So it truly comes as no surprise in the least to The Gadfly that the Pompous, Pampered, Pompadoured Poltroon, aka Donald Drumpf, tossed some red meat chum to his gaggle of Trumpanzees yesterday in North Carolina.

Drumpf was pontificating (aka rage-ranting) on the (now much more likelihood) of Hillary Clinton winning the Presidency.   Herr Drumpf stated, and yes, let us parse these words very meticulously here -- "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

Now - before The Gadfly gets to heart of this matter -- let us make one thing crystalline clear. Anybody, and The Gadfly means any-motherfucking-body, who believes that talk of using a "2nd amendment solution", especially so when it emanates from the NRA gun goon crowd, means anything other than employing gun violence as a method of attaining and advancing one's political goals and agenda, then you are either insanely goddamn delusional or you are in such deep, deep denial that if you denied it any more than what you already are, your your brain would spontaneously combust and turn to instant ash.

The Gadfly will fucking wager any one of you that just about every Trumpanzee in that North Carolina crowd knew full well what Drumpf was alluding to when he made that remark.  And what did they do knowing full well what Drumpf's message was with that statement?  They fucking cheered is what they did.  They fucking cheered that their presidential candidate had bandied about the prospect of political assassination as a way of stopping a popularly elected United States president from moving forward with a policy agenda that was mandated to them with a majority vote of the American electorate.

The Gadfly will state unequivocally -- as much as The Gadfly loathes Drumpf, he (and he knows his fellow liberals would be in nearly unanimous agreement) would be abhorred if Hillary Clinton or one of her minions suggested that their supporters resort to use of the gun to kill Drumpf as a way of preventing him from exercising his constitutionally mandated duties as duly elected commander in chief of this nation should he win.  That quite simply is not the American way.  It is the way of 3rd world anarchists, traitors and seditionist assholes and quite obviously -- lunatics.

This is really the final straw for The Gadfly.  The Gadfly can no longer in good conscience have any respect for the people openly supporting Donald Drumpf.  And that is sad because The Gadfly knows that he has some friends and family members who for whatever reasons that they have conjured up from the turmoil in their heads, are lustily cheering this ugly little man-child, tin horned dictator wannabe on.  For god fucking sakes you people -- do you truly not understand what the stakes are here to yours, your children's and your grandchildren's futures???  This is not just another episode of Drumpf's hokey tv "reality" show The Apprentice!  Honestly -- what is it going to take for you people to wake up and realize that by giving a racist, bigoted, woman-hating, hateful, arrogant, worldly ignorant and mentally unstable fascist your party's nomination and support, you have essentially, as Bill Maher put it, handcuffed yourselves to a dead hooker?

Yeah sure -- this country is in a world of economic shit -- no thanks to 30 plus fucking years of oligarch coddling and worker hating -- primarily by the Republican party it needs to be noted -- but to address that issue by, in effect, dropping your draws, bending over, squirting a tube of K-Y lube up your ass and then letting the Dark Prince of Oligarchs have his way with you, is the supreme definition of insanity.

On The Subject of Moving On, Never Forgetting and Following Your Heart . . .

Salutations dear readers.

The Gadfly is back after a long hiatus.  You see -- The Gadfly's father passed away recently and to be quite honest, The Gadfly just hasn't had his heart or his spirit in to the squalid business of observing and commenting upon the revolting state of political affairs in this country lately.

But last week, as The Gadfly was moping about the house, allowing his sorrow to dictate his free time activities, The Gadfly found his self reminiscing about the many conversations he'd had with his dad over the years, and The Gadfly recalled the old man telling him once, perhaps not in the most eloquent of words -- because Dad just wasn't an eloquent kind of guy you know? -- that if you just go out in the world and do what you sincerely and truly believe and feel is right in your heart, then things will be ok.  And so The Gadfly is moving on from the melancholy of his father's passing -- and moving on not in the sense of forgetting mind you.  It's a tough thing to let go, but The Gadfly is absolutely certain that the old man would have wanted it this way.

And so The Gadfly has spent the better part of this past week making his best effort at overcoming the heartache of his loss and turning his attention to getting caught up on what's been transpiring in this wonderful and schizophrenic pageantry which we fondly refer to as a Presidential election.

And so stand by dear readers, The Gadfly is back behind the wheel of his blogging Ferrari and he's ready to lay down some thick rubber tracks on the backsides of the right wing assholes in this country whose selfish and reckless behavior is putting this country's democracy, economic and national security and legacy as a force for good in the world, in great peril.

The Bloody Knuckles Would Be Not Only Worth It, But Priceless . . .

The Gadfly leisurely maintains a short list of The Most Punchable Faces in Cable TV Politics - hint: Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are lifetime legacy members.  It's a benign and enchanting side hobby.

It's been awhile since The Gadfly has made any additions to his, admittedly fairly short list, but Fox "Newz" contributor Jonathan Hoenig just barreled his way on to the list's lifetime membership section in one fell swoop:

Not only did a Fox News regular call for more burning of fossil fuels, the one person, out of five, with a different opinion was told to shut up as she tried to argue another side.

The pretext for the discussion was a push for green energy initiatives by the U.S., Canada and Mexico last week.

Predictably, almost all the time in the five-minute segment was taken up by attacking the initiatives rather than actually explaining or exploring them.

Guest Charlie Gasparino called the move “really stupid.” He added, “The impact it’s going to have is going to be de minimis, largely because if you’re worried about greenhouse gases and carbon footprint and all that, it’s not really occurring here, OK? It’s occurring in China and India.”

Host Charles Payne didn’t try to hide his bias. He called the initiatives “nuts on every level.”

But regular guest Jonathan Hoenig took the cake:

HOENIG: We need more carbon emissions, Charles, we need more smoke stacks, we need more burning of fossil fuels and energy because the more we burn, the better man’s life has become. The more energy we use, the greater amount of wealth that’s created.

Two rebuttals, which are, to any sane individual, overtly due here.

First - Charles Gasparino's claim that greenhouse gases are only occurring in China and India is about as mind-numbing dumb as it gets.  Sure Charlie - because everyone knows the U.S. has an invisible, impenetrable Star Trek-like force field over it's mainland and combined with the giant fans and filters that we've installed in low orbit space directly over our country, we're automatically protected --- right?  Moron.

Secondly - are Hoenig's snide statements about how we all would be so, so much better off if only we were burning more coal and more oil and more natural gas.  Which to The Gadfly's inquiring mind brings up the natural response --- Hey ASSHOLE!  If you're such a big fan of the burning of fossil fuels, then you wouldn't mind the construction of a few of the coal burning factories with the soot spewing smokestacks in your swanky neighborhood of million dollar homes would you?  Shit - but why stop there?  Let's drill a few fracking wells in your back yard and your neighborhood parks too while we're at it, and let's also put an toxin spewing oil refinery right next to your favorite, scenic lake and/or river.

Honestly dear readers, The Gadfly simply cannot fathom where it is that Rupert Murdoch continually digs up these vainglorious, callous fuckers with the brain power of a gerbil (and that's truly an insult to gerbils) to blather their neanderthal, conservative idiocy all over the public airwaves on his evil empire network.  Fox has a seemingly endless supply of these freaks.

Nonetheless, congratulations to Jonathan Hoenig for making The Gadfly's coveted list of The Most Punchable Faces in Cable TV Politics.  Come to think of it, The Gadfly is unconditionally of the view that this smarmy little prick could probably use a good solid uppercut to his tiny cock and balls area as well -- just for good measure and because seeing him suffer such would be that much fun.

Ok -- so the 8th and most expensive (to U.S. taxpayers) investigation of Hillary Clinton's role in the Benghazi tragedy has come to a whimpering end, and like the previous 7 investigations, it found no wrongdoing by HRC or the Obama government.  Sure -- mistakes were made, just as they were in the numerous embassy attacks that took place under George W. Bush's watch.

But here's the stark difference between progressives and conservatives.  Progressives didn't run around like partisan assholes saying Bush was a murderer and calling for endless fishing investigations after the attacks and tragic deaths which took place under his administration.

So even though Trey Gowdy's $7million, taxpayer funded political exercise came up with the same result as all of the previous political exercises, Herr Drumpf wasn't placated:

Well -- somebody did go and ask murdered Ambassador Christopher Steven's famiily what they thought about Hillary Clinton's judgement -- imagine fucking that??

Trump closed May with just $1.3 million cash on hand. That’s down from $2.4 million at the start of the month. The campaign raised just $5.6 million, even though the Trump campaign signed a major fundraising agreement with the Republican National Committee in the middle of the month, and spent $6.7 million.

One the most striking things about the report is how much money the campaign is paying to Trump-affiliated companies.

Data management? Not so much. But Trump has loaned himself more than $40 million now, and if he can’t ramp up his fundraising, he’ll never be able to pay himself back.

Drumpf is actually taking the meager amount of campaign money he has received so far and has been generously funneling about a quarter of it back in to a bunch of his own shitty little companies! Dastardly genius!

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. (WSAZ/WV MetroNews) -- Three men are dead and another behind bars after a shooting reportedly over firewood.

The shooting happened at Valley High Timber Farm in Great Cacapon in Morgan County, West Virginia about 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Deputies responded after reports of an active shooter on the scene. When they got there, they say the shooter had fled, but three men were found dead from gunshot wounds.
Erick Shute, 32, of Great Cacapon, was arrested in Pennsylvania for the shootings.

Morgan County Sheriff Vince Shambaugh identified Shute to MetroNews as a “sovereign citizen” and said he had filed a number of complaints against the victims including property disputes.

“Iraq, crooked as hell,” Trump told a crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina. “How about bringing baskets of money – millions and millions of dollars – and handing it out? I wanna know, who are the soldiers that had that job? Because I think they’re living very well right now, whoever they may be.”
While Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Politico he was referring to Iraqi soldiers, the site noted the billionaire businessman has made similar remarks about U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq in the past.

The Gadfly simply cannot find it within himself to comment in depth on the Orlando shooting massacre that occurred this past weekend.  Frankly, just what is it that The Gadfly could say that hasn't already been said by smarter and more eloquent commentators?

Sadly though, it goes without saying that this kind of gun carnage has become an entrenched feature instead of a bug in our firearms worshiping CULTure of death.

What's worse is trying to rationally engage any of the Ted Nugent screaming mimi wingnut crowd in to having an adult, sane conversation about this ever escalating problem of mass shooting events in this country.  The Gadfly just cannot fucking handle listening to those idiots trot out the same old hoary, discredited justifications for not doing anything about this cultural cancer that is ravaging this nation's soul from the inside out.

And to make matters worse of course, the most unhinged of these blathering numbskulls can be heard screeching garbage not unlike this:

He's Baaaaaaaaaack . . . . A Dormant Gadfly Stirs From His Somnambulism . . .

Now that Hillary has officially wrapped up the Dem nomination allow The Gadfly to make a few, what should be to any rational observer, salient points.

First - Bernie Sanders should be given a standing ovation by every damn American who honestly gives a rat's puckered ass about this country's future and the long-term health of our representative democracy.

The Gadfly knew Sanders had a mighty challenge to overcome in taking on the Democratic establishment and their chosen candidate Hillary Clinton.  In fact, dear readers, you can go back a few months and view archived postings where The Gadfly predicted a Sanders loss, while simultaneously professing admiration for Sander's policy proposals and the dirty old socialist's vision for a better America and better society - one that would improve the quality of life of many more Americans, not to mention resurrecting the slowly disintegrating middle class.

However it was eminently clear, pretty much from the get go, that when you have a locomotive pushing your train up the political tracks as opposed to a hand car, which is what the equivalency of Hillary's establishment support compared to Bernie's grass roots support was, one did not need to be an Einstein prodigy to see that it was just a matter of time before the Hillary train rumbled across the finish line far ahead of the Sander's bedraggled, albeit plucky convoy.

But Sanders proved a couple of things - one he proved that there is a sizable portion of the electorate who are tired of the the Democrats behaving and legislating like Republican wannabes.  Secondly, he managed to force Hillary and the Dem establishment to tack fairly sharply back to the left on a range of progressive policy issues, after a couple of decades of allowing the Republican wingnuts to dominate the discourse and bully the national conversation grossly to the right.  That alone is something The Gadfly has been waiting for a very, very long time to see any Democrat accomplish and it was more than worth it for the the few punches and jabs that Hillary had to endure during this whole sordid primary process.

Lastly - - - Drumpf!!!!!!!

Wow -- what a fucked up week for the bloviating Oompa-Loompa man eh?  The Gadfly really at times just finds himself standing in slack-jawed awe at how Herr Drumpf just cannot help himself from alienating all of these American voters -- women, minorities, sane Republicans, even the fucking Koch brothers -- people who the knuckle-dragging Orangutan is going to need at least some measurable percentage of support from in the general election if he's going to realize his wet dream of dictatorial lordship.   You see dear readers, a lot of people mistakenly conflate the Republican primaries with the general election  - to the extent that they actually end up deluding themselves into actually believing that a bigoted, misogynistic, hateful, petty, narcissistic and soulless fucker like Drumpf can actually win enough votes in the general - and thus the presidency.  It's a sad and pathetic self-immolating spectacle to watch.

The Gadfly honestly wishes either Kasich or Jeb (gaaaack!) Bush had won.  Because that, at the very least, would have sent a somewhat hopeful message that the Republican party still has enough sane members among it's ranks to allow for a measured, adult and serious debate to take place in front of the American public -- instead of the WWE stage crafted circus that the greasy con man Drumpf is undoubtedly going to serve up like a shit sandwich with a side of flies.

But you can't say that The Gadfly hasn't been screaming his voice hoarse from the rooftops trying to warn the right wingers and the rest of the gullible rubes who have prostrated their senses at the small feet of the short-fingered vulgarian Drumpf.  Like dumb cows being led to the slaughterhouse, unthinking, led by the nose and the electric cattle prod - they were and still are ready to follow this smugly arrogant, worldly ignorant and dangerously stupid clown Drumpf as he strives to drive this nation straight in to the abyss of failure with his toddler-like temperament and equally toddler-like thought process as it relates to the mission critical skills of visionary national and international leadership.  Jeebus fucking kripes! -- the dumb fuck even has our long time allies shaking their heads in disbelief and wondering aloud what kind of brain eating amoeba has mass infected millions of Americans such that they actually and seriously want to see this thin-skinned, "reality" tv show spawned thug become the leader of the free world.

Mind boggling -- and fucking scary too.

Nonetheless - it now appears that even the mainstream media along with a few guilt-wracked Republicans are beginning to have lover's remorse from their flirty little fling with Drumpf's mentally disturbed behavior and carnival barker freak show - and it's about fucking time.

But that does not take away from the fact that Herr Drumpf is most definitely still the chosen candidate of the Republican party and their isn't enough lime or bleach to mask the stench of the walking presidential candidate corpse that the right wing nuts and their Libertardian Drumpf fan boyz brigades have offered up to the world as their standard bearer and high political priest.

Selfish fucking Morons.

Ultimately though, The Gadfly, who has stated on many a previous occasion, is not a Hillary groupie, will unequivocally state that if the final choice between Hillary or the toddler-like, spoiled brat, con artist who fancies himself boy king, then Hillary gets the lever pull in the voting booth hands down.  It's a decision that is not up for debate as far as The Gadfly is concerned - for The Gadfly has children and grandchildren and he sure as hell trusts their futures in the hands of grandma Hillary more than he does in the hands of the grifting Chancellor of Drumpf University.

Time to stand up America.  Time to choose your destiny as a nation and a society.  No fucking crying afterward if a sufficient number of you didn't care enough to make your voices heard and your votes count and this fucking despotic clown becomes your dear leader:

Oh -- one last thing -- if Drumpf's cable tv lackeys think that their screeching about Benghazi and the emails and Bill's blow job are going to be their salvation ........ they don't know Hillary ..... she's been deftly fending off right wing attacks for 20+ years and she is battle hardened.  In fact -- The Gadfly envisions this is how the Drumpf -vs- Hillary confrontation is eventually going to go down .... envision the waitress as Hillary and Doug Heffernan as Drumpf...
