Umm, well -- yeah:
Republicans' obsession with overturning ObamaCare is getting sillier and more dangerous at the same time. Now that they've failed to kill the law every way the rules allow — in Congress, the Supreme Court and in a presidential election — the opponents are taking hostages and, in effect, threatening to shoot them if they don't get their way.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, the hostages are the federal government and the U.S. economy.

While the deferential editorial board folks at USA Today, who it should be noted - are usually mainstream conservative in their predilections, don't have much of a stomach for employing the dreaded 'T' word to describe the conservative's and GOP's tactics here, The Gadfly isn't quite as docile. Let us not mince words or meaning -- it is pure and simply economic Terrorism.
ter·ror·ism
[ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1.
the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
2.
the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3.
a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.
The key passage in the editorial excerpt above, in bold for your convenience dear reader, truly highlights just how destructively radical these people have become. As that passage notes, they have "failed to kill the law every way the rules allow." And not just have they miserably failed only once, but 40 FUCKING times!!
And now, apparently they have tired of playing by the rules and continually losing, therefore it's time to cheat, connive, sabotage, deceive, lie and if by doing so it destroys the country in the process - so be it.
The Gadfly supposes he should be somewhat heartened that some of the moderate conservatives are beginning to realize the horror of and association with their Frankenstein creation in the form of the Tea Party, however it is cold comfort in knowing that there is just enough gelatinous goop in the establishment GOP's spine for them to fear slapping down the Teahadists and allowing the insane bastards to proceed with their gutless little murder/suicide temper tantrum.
