"Two women have filed a federal civil lawsuit accusing former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz and two others of participating in an alleged sex trafficking scheme involving young women, drugs and traveling across state lines.
The allegations are the latest chapter in Gaetz’s high-profile sex scandal that ultimately derailed his nomination by President Trump as U.S. Attorney General and also led him to resign from Congress in 2024. His departure came as a bi-partisian House Ethics Committee was in the final stages of an investigation into his alleged misconduct.
The 33-page complaint, filed Monday in the Middle District of Florida, details how the former Congressman used two of his friends, now-convicted ex-Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg, and former Florida GOP House member Christopher Dorworth, to coordinate the recruitment of young women whom they supplied with drugs in order to facilitate sexual encounters, according to the lawsuit. The incidents occurred from 2017 to January 2019."

"The Republican former congressman Matt Gaetz has been accused of participating in the sex trafficking of two young women in a civil lawsuit filed on Thursday in district court in Florida.
The allegations, which Gaetz denied in a statement to the Guardian, are the latest developments in a long-running sexual abuse scandal involving the politician who resigned from Congress in November 2024.
In the 38-page lawsuit, filed in US district court for the middle district of Florida, the women identified as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 claim Gaetz and two others “coordinated the recruitment, payments, drugs, and travel to obtain commercial sexual acts” from them “during 2017 through January 2019”.
“The defendants collectively used their public office, power, and wealth to prey on the economic vulnerability of Plaintiffs to commit the acts,” according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit contends that the alleged victims “were recent high school graduates” at the time of the alleged misconduct."
I'm going to repeat the opening line of this post.

And then some wonder why I have zero interest in entertaining the views of Republicans on the subjects of moral values, family values, and law and order.
It's quite simple actually.
I have no use whatsoever for the hypocritical lecturing of people who knowingly elected a convicted felon, a rapist, a likely pedophile, a coup-plotting traitor, and someone who appoints sex traffickers like Matt Gaetz to high positions in OUR government, as the leader of OUR nation.
Matt Gaetz is MAGA. This is who MAGA is. MAGA is a movement of bad people with bad, destructive ideas for this country.
Drumpf has a well-documented track-record of not hiring "only the best people" as he bragged he would, but instead hiring some of the sleaziest, scummiest, shadiest, most ethically-challenged people he could dredge up from his circle of corrupt "businessmen" cronies and the rancid cesspool of right-wing media (Fox) personalities and MAGA online influencers (aka - losers).
Matt Gaetz's attempted appointment was not an anomaly. A clearly compromised, unfit candidate like Matt Gaetz is the rule, not the exception when it comes to Drumpf's stated claim of hiring "only the best people" for his corrupt, criminal regime.
