Ah yes - the old Trumpian bait and switch trick - a Trump Crime Family classic.
Remember how we found out that Drumpf had snuck bulldozers on to the White House grounds overnight to have them begin demolishing the historic East Wing of the White House to make room for his big, beautiful, golden ballroom without telling or asking anyone, and how DonOld told us not to worry, that his billionaire "friends" were going to pay for the $400 million cost? Remember that?
Well, as many predicted, the cost of that vanity project has now ballooned to over a$1 billion, and Drumpf has apparently ordered his lackeys in the Republican party to try and sneak $1 billion of taxpayer funding into their new anti-American, anti-democracy, pro-billionaire, pro-MAGA spending package to fund the fluffing of DonOld's delicate ego:
Link: Critics floored after GOP sneaks in late-night proposal for Trump's White House ballroom - Raw Story
"Senate Republicans unveiled a $72 billion spending package late Monday night, and onlookers were left stunned after discovering a $1 billion line item related to President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project, which he’s long claimed would be entirely funded by private donors.
“What happened to the ballroom being paid for by private funds?” asked political strategist Reed Galen, co-founder of the conservative organization The Lincoln Project, writing in a social media post on X late Monday night.
Unveiled by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Republicans plan to advance the spending package using reconciliation, a process by which the Senate can move legislation with a simple majority and avoid the 60-vote threshold typically required to overcome the filibuster."
If anyone had any lingering doubts about how manifestly corrupt the Republican party is and just how steadfastly beholden they are to and controlled by the kiddie-diddling, convicted felon mobster in the White House, this should decisively dissuade those doubts.
The Republican party cares about their constituency of one - Donald Trump - infinitely more than they care about their actual constituencies - you the voters. They prove that observation out day after day after day after day with their words and in their deeds.
