There was another special election in solidly red Iowa yesterday, folks.
And the outcome of that election reveals even more 2026 electoral writing on the wall for the Republicans to think long and hard about:
Link: Renee Hardman wins Iowa state Senate seat, blocking GOP from reclaiming a supermajority
"DES MOINES, Iowa —
Democrat Renee Hardman was elected to the Iowa state Senate on Tuesday in a year-end special election, denying Republicans from reclaiming two-thirds control of the chamber.
Hardman bested Republican Lucas Loftin by an overwhelming margin to win a seat representing parts of the Des Moines suburbs. The seat became vacant after the Oct. 6 death of state Sen. Claire Celsi, a Democrat.
Her win is latest in a string of special election victories for Iowa Democrats, who flipped two Senate seats this year to break up a supermajority that had allowed Republicans to easily confirm GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds’ appointments to state agencies and commissions."
As it has been with several of these recent special elections across the country, including in some of the deepest red areas where Drumpf won handily in 2024, the Democrats have trounced the GOP, Drumpf-endorsed candidates and taken the seat.
In this Iowa special election yesterday, not only did the Democratic victor become the first woman of color to win election to Iowa's upper state Senate chamber, but she also increased Kamala Harris' winning percentage in that district by double digits.
I guarantee you that the Tumpublican poobahs are shitting their collective panties at the moment as they watch these special election electoral results roll in one after the other indicating that a sizable percentage of the American people are pretty fucking pissed off right now, and they are voicing that anger by showing up to the ballot box and overwhelmingly rejecting the Republican party, their corrupt, morally bankrupt candidates and morally bankrupt vision for a future America, and also rejecting of course, convicted felon and adjudicated rapist DonOld Drumpf and his execrable MAGA movement.
And we haven't even gotten to the final, tell-all truth about Drumpf's still to be revealed 'Epstein Files' problem yet, which granted, won't diminish the support of his hardcore followers, but it will certainly be a deal-breaker for those traditional GOP voters who may have voted for Drumpf, but still retain enough decency and sane moral values to have absolutely zero tolerance for a child rapist being in the American people's White House.
