This really should not be surprising or shocking to anyone who has not had their head buried in the sand for the past decade about the dark political transformation taking place in this country.
The modern-day, American conservative movement (aka MAGA), is in it's rawest form, Nazism version 2.0, and sadly, these haters of democracy are just getting started spreading their communicable disease of hate, racism, antisemitism, misogyny, greed and selfishness, and anti-Americanism:

"NEW YORK — Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway.
They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.
William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words “n--ga” and “n--guh,” variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, referred to rape as “epic.” Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the same organization, wrote in a message sent in June that “everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.”
Giunta was referring to an upcoming vote on whether he should become chair of the Young Republican National Federation, the GOP’s 15,000-member political organization for Republicans between 18 and 40 years old.
“Im going to create some of the greatest physiological torture methods known to man. We only want true believers,” he continued."
One thing that really does strike me about this story though is just how truly cruel and vindictive these young MAGA Republicans can be, and I am quite certain it is primarily young white males. Seriously - what an enormously tiring burden these bastards have become to a society of mostly decent and accepting people.
And dare I say that being that these no longer "private messages" were and are being typed by the so-called "leaders" of these Young Republicans groups with the laughable belief they would remain private kind of shows how stupid they are too. Ffs - we live in the fucking internet age. Have they not learned yet that the internet is forever? And these are the clowns that the current crop of Republican lawmakers are grooming to lead America in to the future? If so, and they succeed, this entire country and everything decent and honorable it ever stood for is good and fucked.
Also, there will be no convincing me that these young Republican shitheads haven't been "groomed" (remember that word?) by their "God-fearing" Republican parents and other Republican adults in their orbit to embrace these hateful beliefs, and they in turn are grooming other young people who may have the misfortune of being a recruitment target of their loser hate organizations.
Quite simply put - these are not psychologically well-adjusted human beings folks. Their blind hatred and lust for inflicting physical pain on other human beings, the aggrandizing of rape and genocide, praising Hitler and fantasizing about torturing and murdering their political opponents, this is not something that decent, mentally fit humans aspire to.
And of course, all of this sure as hell goes a long way toward explaining the MAGA's die-hard, savior worship of a convicted felon, a serial sex assaulter and rapist, and a suspected child rapist.
And that is why it is so imperative that this diseased movement that calls itself "MAGA" be crushed and removed from our collective American lives in it's entirety.
It is a movement of awfully shitty humans who have blindly adopted and are propagating the shitty ideas and shitty beliefs of some of history's shittiest despots, and yes, that includes Donald fucking Trump. If this movement and it's agenda of hate wins - start planning for your grandchildren to be fluent, trained from birth speakers of the Russian language some day in the not too distant future.
