President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of athletes who don’t stand for the national anthem on Thursday, claiming that some NFL team owners are actually “afraid of their players.”
“I have so many friends that are owners and they’re in a box,” Trump told Fox News. “I’ve spoken to a couple of them they said we are in a situation where we have to do something. I think they’re afraid of their players, it’s disgraceful.”

Umm ... no ... what is truly disgraceful is that a sitting United States President seems to have more time on his hands to wage days long Twitter combat with his detractors and whoever the fuck else, and for no fucking good reason at all, but he can't seem to find time to have an honest to God serious, adult talk with the American people about the humanitarian crisis facing 3.5 million of our fellow U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico at this moment. Nope -- no time at all. Couldn't possibly be because Puerto Ricans are mostly brown and black people and they speak an "un-American" language could it?
