Pot -- Meet Kettle . . .
Bible Spice Palin calling Nancy Pelosi a "dingbat" is just so hilarious on so many different levels, I simply have decided to willingly forfeit the opportunity to mock her on this one.
I will make one observation though - ever notice how you never see Sarah Brave & Tall talking shit about Democrats outside of her safe little Fox "News" cocoon? She knows very well that the Fox bobble-heads will handle her with kid gloves, and basically allow her to peddle whatever tripe that spews from her idiotic pie-hole - unchallenged. Put Palin on with someone like Rachel Maddow though and you'll see Rachel cause Sarah to piss eskimo cubes by aggressively debunking her constant lies and highlighting her ignorance. I'd pay to see that interview.
Anyhow - it's the way these wingers roll though. They know that they are unable to handle an intelligent, honest and fair debate, so they simply play it safe by only going on Fox "News" to let their spittle coated lies fly, knowing full well that the drooling hayseeds, sitting glassy-eyed at home on their sofas, will soak all of the bullshit in where it's then stuffed into the dark cave recesses of their Neanderthal brains.

Hush little babies, don't say a word, Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird...
Oh boo-fucking hoo!
On July 4, the tea party will dust off the tri-corn hats and head into the streets to fight the second revolutionary war against “Obamacare.”Tea party organizers tell TPM that the movement is planning a big Independence Day push in response to the Supreme Court ruling in favor of President Obama’s health care reform bill. The decision ruling the law constitutional — and the surprising vote of Chief Justice John Roberts in the majority — has breathed new life into the tea party, members say.As far as I am concerned - Tea Parties are for little girls to sit around a small table and talk with their imaginary friends and plot against their imaginary enemies. And considering the maturity level of the majority of these Tea Party ignoramuses, it's quite the appropriate analogy.

Slow and Docile . . . .
Fortune Magazine, which can in no way be described as a bastion of liberal media propaganda nor an Obama friendly media organization, actually did the right thing. They assigned an unbiased and competent investigative reporter, who spent 6 months looking in to the so-called "Fast and Furious" gun trafficking "scandal," for which Darrel Issa (R - Car Thief/Arsonist) and Fox News' propagandizing of the so-called "Fast and Furious" gun trafficking "scandal," and actually got to the truth of the whole matter.
http://features.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/27/fast-and-furious-truth/
It's a long read, but pretty insightful.
Quite simply, there's a fundamental misconception at the heart of the Fast and Furious scandal. Nobody disputes that suspected straw purchasers under surveillance by the ATF repeatedly bought guns that eventually fell into criminal hands. Issa and others charge that the ATF intentionally allowed guns to walk as an operational tactic. But five law-enforcement agents directly involved in Fast and Furious tell Fortune that the ATF had no such tactic. They insist they never purposefully allowed guns to be illegally trafficked. Just the opposite: They say they seized weapons whenever they could but were hamstrung by prosecutors and weak laws, which stymied them at every turn.
Indeed, a six-month Fortune investigation reveals that the public case alleging that Voth and his colleagues walked guns is replete with distortions, errors, partial truths, and even some outright lies. Fortune reviewed more than 2,000 pages of confidential ATF documents and interviewed 39 people, including seven law-enforcement agents with direct knowledge of the case. Several, including Voth, are speaking out for the first time.
How Fast and Furious reached the headlines is a strange and unsettling saga, one that reveals a lot about politics and media today. It's a story that starts with a grudge, specifically Dodson's anger at Voth. After the terrible murder of agent Terry, Dodson made complaints that were then amplified, first by right-wing bloggers, then by CBS. Rep. Issa and other politicians then seized those elements to score points against the Obama administration, which, for its part, has capitulated in an apparent effort to avoid a rhetorical battle over gun control in the run-up to the presidential election. (A Justice Department spokesperson denies this and asserts that the department is not drawing conclusions until the inspector general's report is submitted.)
If I were to condense all of that into a few sentences, it would go something like this:
The ATF's Fast and Furious gun trafficking monitoring program was started under the George W. Bush administration, continued under the Barack Obama administration in it's existing form. As a result of some sloppy procedural mistakes in the program and lax U.S. gun laws, a U.S. Border Patrol agent was killed by a Mexican drug bandit who was in possession of one of the guns the ATF had been tracking. Once the killing of the Border Patrol agent become publicly known, right wing bloggers, Darrell Issa (R - Car Thief/Arsonist) and Goebbels Inc. (aka Fox "News") decided to turn the unfortunate incident into an election year political football. Simple....As....That....!
Don't take my word for it though, go read the Fortune article if you are at all interested in the truth. If you are not interested in the truth and would much prefer to have your brain and thinking process pre-programmed by America's foremost political propaganda media outlet -- then by all means -- continue gazing starry-eyed at the Fox "News" bobble-heads on your television set.

Does It Get Any Fucking Clearer? Do I Have to Spell It Out For You?
Here's Willard speaking about education in America at a rally of zombietards in Virginia yesterday:
You see that kids? It's so patriotic! In Willard/Teatard America you'll only get as much education as you and your family "can afford." Ain't that a pip? As far as how that statement can be reconciled with Willard's red, white and blue reference to America as being "a place of opportunity" -- well I have to admit -- he's fucking got me stumped on that one.
If America wants an out of touch, selfish millionaire who, having been lucky enough to have been born with a sterling silver spoon in his pie-hole, and who's sole interest in being President is to consolidate wealth and power amongst the already wealthy and powerful ---- well ----Willard certainly is your man.

I think this is a land of opportunity for every single person, every single citizen of this great nation. And I want to make sure that we keep America a place of opportunity, where everyone has a fair shot. They get as much education as they can afford and with their time they’re able to get and if they have a willingness to work hard and the right values, they ought to be able to provide for their family and have a shot of realizing their dreams.

Some Call It Treason . . .
Following yesterday’s decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act, several Teatard movement leaders across the country are openly calling for armed rebellion against the U.S. government.
Just for shits and grins, I decided to look up the word "treason" at my trusty dictionary.com website. This is what I found.
trea·son
[tree-zuhn] Show IPA
noun
1.
the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2.
a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
Interesting. If I am not mistaken - that definition of treason pretty much describes exactly what the Teatard leaders are screeching about.
Oh my! What will we tell the children??

What comes around burns around . . .
Oh Dear...
While Colorado burns, conservatives have looked for ways to blame it on President Obama.
Some of the same people who have bashed the president as a big government, big spending liberal now say a wildfire that destroyed hundreds of homes in the conservative stronghold of Colorado Springs can be blamed on the president because he has been too slow to spend money to beef up the federal fleet of air tankers.
The meme began more than a week ago when pundit Michelle Malkin, who lives in Colorado Springs, wrote a piece for the National Review Online titled “Obama Bureaucrats Are Fueling Wildfires.”
“The Obama administration’s neglect of the federal government’s aerial-tanker fleet raises acrid questions about its core public-safety priorities,” she wrote.
Hmmm - let us dissect this interesting little conundrum here shall we?
Has it not been the conservatives and Republicans throwing bombastic temper tantrums about government spending - day in, day out, ad nauseum? Are they completely clueless to the fact that the fleet of Aerial Firefighting Tanker planes are funded, maintained and operated with taxpayer dollars?
Do these same myopic conservatives realize that most of the brave firefighting men and women who are putting their own lives on the line battling these monster wild fires are federal employees - employees whose jobs the conservatives would love to either eliminate or scale back in numbers?
And tell me please - exactly who was it (my memory escapes me at this instant) that made a public statement recently saying that America doesn't need any more Teachers, Police and Firefighters? Darn! Who was it that said that? . . . . . . Oh - that's right!! It was the Republican nomine for President - a fellow by the name of Willard Mitt Romney [ LINK HERE ]. Imagine that huh?
But honestly speaking - I do feel terrible for the people whose lives are being turned upside down, and in many cases, destroyed by these awful wild fires. But you know what folks? And this message is aimed specifically at those conservatives who have been working to "drown government" in a bathtub for years and gut all types of services that benefit all Americans - so to those conservatives - if your house burnt to the ground - "Talk to the hand, 'cause the face don't wanna hear it anymore."

Ummm - speaking of "Giant Total Frauds" -- El Rushblob certainly wasn't throwing the "tarnished forever" charge at the SCOTUS when they voted in the 'Citizens United' decision to allow unlimited amounts of unregulated, anonymous cash to flow ever more freely into America's already corrupt political system. He also didn't throw a hissy fit, when in that same decision, the SCOTUS also classified corporations as "people." The Citizens United decision was declared by most constitutional scholars as one of the worst ever in the history of Supreme Court jurisprudence simply because all it accomplished was to shore up the foundation of corruption in our nation's politics.
And the reason ol' drug-addled El Rushblob liked that decision so much was because it benefited the Republican party immensely more than the Democrats simply by virtue of the Republicans being the recipients of a helluva lot more corporate cash than the Dems.
So, if I were ever awarded the opportunity to stand in front of El Rushblob and be allowed to make just one single statement to him, it would be this:
"STFU you whining, sniveling, lying, unethical drug addicted piece of shit. Here's a shiny new quarter you worthless prick - go call someone who gives a flying fuck about what you think."

Kindergarten is an Evil Liberal Program Designed to Turn Your Child in to an Anti-Social Criminal Hippie...Say What??
Another Teatard opens his mouth and a bucketful of stupid spills out:
Not to be outdone, Representative Bob Kingsbury said he's been working on a theory since 1996, when he analyzed local crime rates and compared them to a list of communities that offered public kindergarten. Then, he told his colleagues, Laconia offered kindergarten and had the highest rates of crime. Meanwhile, surrounding towns, some of which didn't offer kindergarten, had less crime.
"We're taking children away from their mothers too soon," Kingsbury concluded.
Kingsbury wrote to all of his then state representatives, informing them of his research. To his dismay, the state Legislature has since joined the remaining 49 states in mandating public kindergarten. "And we have more crime today," he said.
In addition to kindergarten, Kingsbury also linked the rise of crime to the decline of gun ownership and to fact that boxing is no longer taught in school or offered as a sport.
Kindergarten makes criminals of children. Imagine that! And it only took him (hmm - let's see - since 1996) a total of 16 years of research to reach that conclusion! ROFL!
These people are certifiably insane. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind about it.

Contemptible People Holding Others in Contempt -- Your Daily Wingnut Inanity...
House holds Holder in contempt
Priceless!
The Republican led House of Representatives along pure bipartisan lines, voted to hold Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress for not forking over sensitive documents related the ATF's "Fast and Furious" program - a program that was started under the Bush Administration two years prior to his departure from the White House. It was a (at that time) non-controversial program that Obama simply allowed to continue as designed and implemented by the Bush people.
Washington (CNN) -- The House of Representatives voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for refusing to turn over documents tied to the botched Fast and Furious gun-running sting -- a discredited operation that has become a sharp point of contention between Democrats and Republicans in Washington.
The House approved a pair of criminal and civil measures against the attorney general, marking the first time in American history that the head of the Justice Department has been held in contempt by Congress.House members approved the criminal contempt measure in a 255-67 vote. Almost every House Republican backed the measure, along with 17 Democrats.
If I were Obama and Holder I would tell Darrell Issa (R-Car Thief/Arsonist) to go pound sand in his fucking ass and just ignore them. Besides, recent polling puts the American public's approval rating of the GOP led Congress at around 17% -- which to me indicates the American people have quite a lot of contempt for Congress it's self.
Basically what it boils down to is that it is a Presidential election year, so you can definitely count on the GOP to try and gin up any phony scandals and controversies for which they can attempt to smear Obama with. They are corrupt to the core -- they know it, a majority of Americans know it and let's hope enough people realize this bullshit for what it is and show up at the polls on election day to kick the GOP to the curb and out of power.
Oh - and those 17 Democrats who French-kissed the sphincters of the Republicans by voting along with them on the contempt charges --- they can go fuck themselves too and here's hoping they lose their upcoming elections - even if it's to a goddamn Republican.

Affordable and Accessible Healthcare for More Americans! GOP Screams...ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT! WAAAAAAAAH!!
With the SCOTUS decision today upholding the constitutionality (of which 90% of surveyed constitutional scholars agreed with) of the ACA healthcare reform act, the TeaTards are in full mouth frothing mode and are absolutely apoplectic over it. Listen to what one Teabagger Senator had to say about it:
By Scott Keyes on Jun 28, 2012 at 2:10 pm
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Businesses should be allowed to deny health insurance to cancer patients, according to a Republican senator, because “our nation was based on the foundation of freedom and limited government.”
So basically what Mr. Senator TeaTard, who no doubt ran as a candidate on a platform of family values and the purity of his Christian faith, is saying here is that if you are employed by a company and are receiving company paid for health insurance, and at sometime during your employment are diagnosed with cancer or any other life-threatening illness for that matter, your employer has the right to terminate your health insurance coverage on the spot because "our nation was based on the foundation of freedom and limited government."
You know - there are times when the hideous heartlessness and hypocrisy of these Teathuglicans is so astronomically mind blowing -- I just have stand back and look on in stupefied awe at the level of their unrepentant depravity.
And this isn't just a one-off incident. We saw earlier evidence of their repugnant mindset when, as audience members at one of the GOP primary debates, they yelled in unison, "let him die!" to a question posed to Ron Paul as to what Paul would do if a working individual, who had not purchased (for whatever reason) health insurance, suffered a catastrophic illness or injury which could lead to death if not medically addressed.
I have become unflinchingly convinced of one thing when it comes to my view of the worst of the Teabaggers -- their selfishness, greed and inhumanity ought to be evidence enough for revoking their citizenship status of this great country. Maybe we can convince the Canadians to sell us some frozen, land-locked portion of one of their least inhabitable provinces, wall it in, and then send all of these Don't Tread On Me pricks there and let them rat-fuck each other into extinction.
And no - I feel not one iota of remorse for making that statement. NOT ONE IOTA!

Ehh - $2 billion or $9 billion ... What's a Few $Billion Between Friends?
Well imagine that! JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon and Congress's most favoritest BFF, it appears, hasn't been totally truthful on the size of the losses in his company's (and by company I really mean Mafia Crime Syndicate) most recent roll of the dice at the GWOPM (Gambling With Other People's Money) craps table:
Losses on JPMorgan Chase’s bungled trade could total as much as $9 billion, far exceeding earlier public estimates, according to people who have been briefed on the situation.
When Jamie Dimon, the bank’s chief executive, announced in May that the bank had lost $2 billion in a bet on credit derivatives, he estimated that losses could double within the next few quarters. But the red ink has been mounting in recent weeks, as the bank has been unwinding its positions, according to interviews with current and former traders and executives at the bank who asked not to be named because of investigations into the bank.
The bank’s exit from its money-losing trade is happening faster than many expected. JPMorgan previously said it hoped to clear its position by early next year; now it is already out of more than half of the trade and may be completely free this year.
Just last week there was a magnificent charade on Capitol Hill, where the estimable Mr. Dimon was gang fellated by the Senate Banking Committee, a group of grifters posing as Senators, and who incidentally, have been on the generous receiving end of JP Morgan's political donations Christmas list for years.
Dimon and his hedge-fund cowboys have donated somewhere in the neighborhood of half a $million dollars to these Senate Banking Committee members just this past year alone, with the breakdown being 60% to Republicans and 40% to Democrats. The only positive aspect of those breakdown percentages is that it proves, if anything, that Dimon is an equal opportunity corrupter when it comes to political party support.
Bottom line is that JP Morgan initially reported only $2 billion (only!) in losses on their London Whale's dicey dice throw. That loss number is now estimated to be $9 billion, and since they are likely lying about that number too, don't be surprised if the tally vaults in to double-digits territory once the end-all, final truth is known.
But once again I point out to you all - these are the people who own you. They own your country. They own your government. They own your finances. They own yours, your children's and your grand children's destiny.
How much longer are you going to sit around and allow them own you?

AfTexastan GOP . . . With a Policy Platform Only a Mullah Could Love . . .
WTF? From the Texas GOP Policies Platform:
There’s more: the GOP also opposes the teaching of “critical thinking skills” because they “focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.”
Holy shit! Critical thinking skills are a bad thing to teach youngsters? Really? Fucking Really???
How much more proof do the wishy-washy independents and my saner conservative friends need in order to prove to them that the Republican party has been wholesale hijacked by a bunch of re-animated zombies from Hester Prynne's era?
Basically what the Texas GOP wingnut goobers are advocating for in that piece of their platform is that they would much prefer to keep American kids dumb and uninformed with blank slate minds as it is so much easier to brainwash a child who has no fixed beliefs about the world around them. And since all available evidence indicates that dumb and uninformed people make up the majority of the GOP voting base these days, it all makes perfect sense. By imbuing children with the ability to think for themselves, conservatives would be forced to face the all too real and horrifying risk that those children just might become well-rounded, intelligent adults, and by proxy, come to the realization that the conservative movement and the modern day Republican party, in all truthfulness, simply does not give a rat's fucking ass about them.

The American Taliban - Hard at Work Transforming America in to a Third World Theocracy
Can you imagine the uproar, the rending of garments and the gnashing of teeth that would ensue were an Atheist or a Buddhist or a Muslim business owner to deny someone employment based on the fact they had not proven their bona fides in the business owner's chosen religious idolatry sufficiently enough for the owner's satisfaction??
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed suit against a Tulsa lighting store charging that the company required prospective workers to be Christian, the Tulsa World reports.
The EEOC claims that when Edward Wolfe applied to be a supervisor at Voss Lighting's Tulsa store in 2011, two local managers made numerous inquires "both subtle and overt" about his religious activity and beliefs.
He was allegedly asked to identify churches he had attended for several years, whether he was "saved" and whether he would have a problem coming to work early to attend Bible study, the newspaper reports.
In one alleged conversation, the EECO charges, Wolfe was told that while most Voss employees were Southern Baptists, that would not be required of him, as long as he was a "born-again" Christian.

How come there are never any Pledges of Allegiance to concepts like Love, kindness, compassion and mercy?
I hate it when either side of the political discourse spectrum trots out the dreaded "Nazi" charge. But you know - there's an old saying - "if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck."
It seems however that one of our major political parties, by virtue of resurrecting the practice of "loyalty oaths" among their faithful, just may be deserving of the dreaded "N" label:
It's easy to forget, but loyalty oaths were not uncommon in Republican circles during the Bush/Cheney era.
In August 2004, however, then-Vice President Cheney spoke at an event in Albuquerque, but locals were only allowed to get a ticket to attend if they first signed a loyalty oath swearing they "endorse George W. Bush for reelection of the United States [sic]."
A couple of months later, at a Bush event in Florida, a Republican asked those in attendance to stand, raise their right hands, and recite a Pledge of Allegiance ... to George W. Bush. As part of the oath, attendees were told to say: "Because I care, I promise to work hard to re-elect, re-elect George W. Bush as president of the United States."
I'm trying to imagine what Republicans would say in 2012 if Democrats pushed voters to stand, raise their right hands, and pledge their allegiance to President Obama.
While the U.S. history of loyalty oaths dates back to the post Civil War Reconstruction era, they gained notoriety during the Joseph McCarthy communist witch hunts in the 1950's.
Their most prolific fame, however, came during the decade run-up to World War II in Germany when Hitler came in to power and required loyalty oaths to himself and the German Empire.
So inevitably I get back to the inductive reasoning of the "duck test" and I ask myself - is there a similarity between the modern day GOP's loyalty oaths and Hitler's loyalty oaths? Based on an apples to apples comparison of all of the available evidence - I would have to most definitely answer in the affirmative.

Teabagger Buffoonery at it's Finest . . .
These are the kind of loony tunes fuckheads that the Teabaggers elected to Congress:
Rand Paul's insidious attempt to hold up simple and bipartisan agreed upon legislation, which is aimed at bolstering the National Flood Insurance program with the Hurricane season imminent, just so he can insert a rider on to the legislation that states Baby Jeebus will get mad if we don't declare that human life begins at instant of fertilization in a woman's womb, is behavior that borders on the psychotic.

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) moved this week to hold a noncontroversial flood insurance bill hostage until the Senate agrees that life begins at fertilization.
The bill, which would financially boost the National Flood Insurance Program on the cusp of hurricane season, had been expected to pass easily in the Senate. But since Paul on Monday offered an unrelated "fetal personhood" amendment, which would give legal protections to fetuses from the moment of fertilization, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is threatening to halt progress on the legislation.

I will Gladly Pay You Tuesday For a Shamburger Today!
Is anyone truly surprised or bothered by this?:
Newt Gingrich ends his White House dream today with his political committee facing a mountain of debts -- owing about $4 million to scores of businesses and campaign workers around the country who fear they will never get paid.
Campaign watchdogs said the size of Gingrich's debt is extraordinary -- and could have been avoided if the candidate and his team had been more disciplined.
"He was reckless in running up these bills, especially in the last month or so of the campaign when it was quite clear that Mitt Romney would be the nominee," said Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist for the watchdog group Citizen Union.
The campaign has been dogged by financial problems since last summer, but its cash crunch accelerated in recent weeks. It finished March with $4.3 million in debts, an alarming increase from $1.5 million at the end of February, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
I mean - what is it that is so unbelievably out of the ordinary about that story. It's just business as usual for Republicans -- recklessly spend a bunch of other people's money, run up a bunch of credit debt, and then once the venture fails, stiff the little guys with all the bills. It's exactly the way Bush and the GOP governed the country for the 8 years prior to Obama being elected and Newt, Mitt and the rest of them aren't any different in their mindsets when it comes to fiscal policies.

So what? Your people are better fed, clothed, educated and earn better wages and have a better quality of life - PFFFFFT! We got us some bigger mofo guns that you do!
Wow! Thank The Invisible Sky Being that the embedded video below is only a television show and it's just an actor daring to speak the truth like that.
If it had been a real political candidate or pundit, or blogger - I have no doubts whatsoever that some Teatard types would be up in arms over somebody daring to state the obvious that the America of today isn't really the "greatest" country on earth.
When the politician guy (played by actor Jeff Daniels) starts rapid fire ticking off all of the quality of life issues that America woefully lags the rest of the developed world in, it simply underscores the toxic strain of insanity and the mind boggling level of ignorance that exists in place of a heart and soul within the right wing extremists who make up the core of the Tea Party, the Republican leadership, and the barons of Wall Street and K Street at this time.
If there is one thing that I am quite certain of, however, it is that the wingnuts aren't bothered by all of that mushy, wimpy, socialist, love your fellow man crap. They sleep soundly at night just knowing that this country spends more taxpayer money on it's military war machine than the next 26 largest countries combined. The fact that the only countries who are spending more money as a percentage of their country's GDP than the U.S. are a handful of Arab Gulf states and Israel speaks volumes about America's fucked up, ass-backward priorities in the Gadfly's NSHO (not so humble opinion.)

Vatican Calls in the Media HazMat Team to Clean Up Their Toxic Mess...
I completely understand the reasoning and motive behind this decision by the Vatican:
A Fox News reporter has been chosen by Pope Benedict to burnish the Vatican's image amid signs that the 85-year-old pontiff is plotting a radical shakeup at the top of the Roman Catholic church.
Greg Burke, a 52-year-old member of the conservative Opus Dei fellowship, is to take a strategic communication role in the Vatican's most important government department, the secretariat of state.
I totally see and get the methodology of the Pope's choice in this matter. It's a very straight forward, uncomplicated business decision. Basically what it boils down to is - that when the chips are down and there is a critical need for the world's most foremost experts in disseminating propaganda, lies and character assassinations -- one can always count on Fox "News" and it's well trained lackeys to take on the burden of such a daunting and dirty job.

Do The Math . . . Then Either Bitch and Moan About It or Do Something About It
Hmmmmm....
http://www.businessinsider.com/corporate-profits-just-hit-an-all-time-high-wages-just-hit-an-all-time-low-2012-6
In case you need more confirmation that the US economy is out of balance, here are three charts for you.
1) Corporate profit margins just hit an all-time high. Companies are making more per dollar of sales than they ever have before. (And some people are still saying that companies are suffering from "too much regulation" and "too many taxes." Maybe little companies are, but big ones certainly aren't)
2) Fewer Americans are working than at any time in the past three decades. One reason corporations are so profitable is that they don't employ as many Americans as they used to.
3) Wages as a percent of the economy are at an all-time low. This is both cause and effect. One reason companies are so profitable is that they're paying employees less than they ever have as a share of GDP. And that, in turn, is one reason the economy is so weak: Those "wages" are other companies' revenue.
In short, our current system and philosophy is creating a country of a few million overlords and 300+ million serfs.
That's not what has made America a great country. It's also not what most people think America is supposed to be about.
So we might want to rethink that.
Click this link to see the charts: [http://www.businessinsider.com/politics-economics-facts-charts-2012-6]
All of this to me begs two very obvious questions.
- If corporations are making profits hand over fist and sitting on record amounts of reserve cash, how is it that the Republicans and the Teatards translate these record numbers to match their spittle flying claims that Obama has been "bad for business?"
- Does anyone recall the last time in U.S. history where there existed such a stark wealth disparity between a very small number of American elites and the rest of the country? There once was a period of several decades where big business and Wall Street were left to their own unregulated devices to the point that unbridled greed became such a dominant factor in the zeal to increase profit margins and consolidate wealth that the elites and big business began playing a dangerous game of Russian Roulette with the U.S. and international economies. It was called 'The Gilded Age' and the 'Robber Baron Age' and 'The Roaring 20's,' and it all culminated in the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the beginning of the Great Depression which devastated everyday American's lives for about a dozen years or so prior to the start of WWII. So my actual question here is - does anyone see the historical parallel here? Does anyone see how, when the wealthy elites and Wall St. are not closely regulated, that they simply cannot be trusted one iota to look out for the interests of their fellow citizens and the nation's overall economic health which affects the lives of every single American?
Things to think about folks. I am not researching, reading about and writing about this stuff just to see my own words in print. I care about and love this country and I fear that I am watching the slow-motion destruction of representative democracy and the freedoms, individual rights and quality of life issues that are inherent by-products of it.
It's a slow march to serfdom and you are either for it or against it. Better make up your mind soon.

Ahh Yes -- The Modern Day GOP -- Leading America Forward Into the 21st Century With the Mindset of 14 Year Olds ...
I wish some of the sane people that still remain on the right (yes - there are a few left believe it or not) would stand up and state what comedians like Bill Maher are stating re: the immaturity and recklessness of the Republican party:
Yep - it's a pretty sad commentary on, not only the state of political discourse in the country, but also the state of the mainstream media, who instead of taking on the critically important task of accurately informing the American public as to who exactly it is that is obstructing progress, they just lazily sit on the sidelines playing their stupid he said/she said games and letting comics like Maher, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do their fucking jobs for them.

And the Bell Tolls for the Beginning of the End of Humanity . . . And That is Probably a Good Thing
It's rare when I read words from another blogger that make me jump out of my chair, pump my fist in the air and let out a guttural "yeaargh!"
John Cole really lays it on the line about how ill American culture is at this point in our young history. Here's Cole pondering the scene outside the courthouse after serial child molester Jerry Sandusky was convicted today:
It’s just really harder and harder for me to find any redeeming qualities in the human race these days. There is fucking nothing here to celebrate. Period. And anyone standing on the stairs there cheering should really spend some time evaluating their own existence, and whether or not they have gone tragically wrong in their own emotional development. Sick, sick, people. Who spends their nights on the stairs of the courthouse cheering a verdict that confirms dozens of kids were abused and the accused will be brought to justice? Why aren’t you at home reading, playing with your dogs or cats, children, or watching tv?
Such a sick, disgusting culture. The majority of our nation is mentally ill.
http://www.balloon-juice.com/2012/06/22/open-thread-sandusky-edition/
He's right. This nation has a very serious mass psychosis revolving around the toxic combination of pop culture, celebrity worship and human tragedy. It is, as Cole aptly observes, sick and disgusting. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the rise of the Tea Party and their army of knuckle-dragging louts. That nexus of a psychopathic culture, 18th century politics and medieval thinking should scare the shit out of anyone who has hope that what shredded remnants remain of this country's representative democracy will survive to see the end of this century in any form that is beneficial to mankind.
George Carlin talked about this sad human spectacle several years ago. I have no doubt that if he were still around today to see how far the human species, with the immature American culture leading the way, has progressed toward Carlin's prediction of eventual self-immolation, he would be smiling - not because of happiness at the prospect of the human species self-destructing, but mostly because he told us all it was coming - and like everything else important that we are told, like climate change for example, we just ignored it.

Cheaters Never Prosper -- Unless You Are a Right Wing Media Fuckhead...
Why does this not surprise me in the least?:
In case you are not familiar with this story - it's about coaches and players on the New Orleans Saints instituting a team bounty system for vicious hits and deliberately injuring and knocking opposing players out of games. Those dirty tactics were on display in the 2009 NFC Championship game between the Saints and the Minnesota Vikings which the Saints barely escaped with a 31-28 win and then went on to victory in the Super Bowl. In that game it was obvious to even many in the neutral media that Saint's players were consistently tackling Minnesota QB Brett Favre at the knee and ankle level. And in fact, in the 4th quarter of that game Favre was knocked out for a couple of series after a very low tackle at his shin level badly injured one of his ankles. Favre did return to the game after being attended to on the sidelines and nearly brought the Vikings back for a win but threw an errant interception at the end to lose the game.
Nonetheless Limpballs, in staying true to his thuggish and unethical personal character, doesn't see a problem with that kind of dirty play style at the professional level -- so much so that he believes that the NFL's instituting of a hotline for players to report such incidents is an affront to his and his sycophantic follower's "alpha male" manhood. LMFAO! Sorry - just seeing the word 'manhood' in reference to Limbaugh and his male fans instantly elicits snickering fits of laughter from me for some reason.
But let's get to the real point of the matter here. Can you believe this fucking piece of shit masquerading as a human being is a hero to a great many people in this country??
Even though it's a professional sports issue, it speaks volumes about your modern day conservative mindset. To them, the ends, regardless of how cruel, sleazy and even illegal they may be, always justify the means. Limbaugh and crowd thinks cheating in professional sports is just fine and dandy. So it only stands to reason that they would think and operate the exact same way when it comes to politics.
At one point a few years ago Limburger was part of a group of wealthy investors making a bid to purchase a controlling interest in the St. Louis Rams team. The NFL Players Association made a big enough stink about it that Limbaugh was forced to drop out of the deal - not surprising since there a lot of black football players in the NFL and they are quite aware of PigBoy's history of racist statements on his media shows.
And now that El Rushblob is publicly defending and advocating for the cheating/hacking players to be allowed to cheat and hack any way they want, it ought to automatically result in a lifetime ban from ever being involved in either the ownership or management of any NFL franchise. Period.
I say let the sonofabitch get his pimple and pus oozing ass involved in professional wrestling if he's so enamored of cheating in a sport.

Hmmm - so he could foresee the coming end of the world, but just somehow wasn't receiving the celestial radio transmissions that the IRS was hot on his ass? What's even sadder is that this common criminal, will likely get a short prison stay, get out early for good behavior (for proselytizing to other prisoners), and go right back to his criminal enterprise of fleecing the elderly and ignorant sheep (ala Jimmy Swaggart and Peter Popoff).

If you thought the end of the world was near, would you pay your taxes?
For Ronald Weinland, 63, the answer was no. Weinland -- who runs a church from his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, and delivers sermons via the Internet -- warned his followers that the world was going to combust on Sept. 30, 2008 and then again on May 27, 2012. But as the world kept spinning, the Internal Revenue Service grew suspicious of Weinland's personal finance.
On June 13, Weinland was found guilty on five counts of tax evasion, according to Northern Kentucky News. He avoided paying more than $300,000 in taxes between 2005 and 2010 by funneling money into a foreign bank account, lying on his tax forms and writing off personal expenses as church expenses, according to the grand jury indictment.
Weinland reportedly defended his actions by telling the jury that the U.S. financial system would collapse before Jesus returned and the world expired, according to Northern Kentucky News .
For someone who thought the end was near, Weinland certainly made himself comfortable. According to Forbes, he lived in a $400,000 home, where he filled his closets with expensive suits, and traveled to Las Vegas for trips he billed to the Church.

Colbert explains the very easily explainable . . .
Stephen Colbert doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to ridiculing the phony politics of your modern day Republican party and their penchant for manufacturing opaque scandals culled from the fevered imaginations of their own duplicitous sphincters.
Watch as Stephen gives the Slap Chop dice and mince treatment to former car thief and arsonist Darrell Issa (R-CA) and his phony investigation into the Bush Administration initiated gun-running program "Fast and Furious." Not only is this clip infinitely more informative than any story you'll see in the mainstream news media on this "scandal," it's also funnier than fuck. As an added bonus, Fox "News," Joe The Plumber, and the rest of the wingnut media hyenas get a good solid kick to the groin as well.
When it comes to the fine art of underscoring the migraine inducing insanity of the conservative right these days, nobody, other than Jon Stewart, comes within a city block's reach of Colbert's brilliance:
My hat is off to you Mr. Colbert!

Oh what tangled, tea soaked webs they weave . . .
This is just fucking beautiful.
This clip is 18 minutes long, but it really needs to be seen to be believed. Rachel Maddow worms her way so far into the right-wing, teabagging mindset that I'm surprised that just being exposed to such toxic pollution didn't drive her instantly stark raving mad.
The best part of this clip is finding out that the wingnut blogger Mike Vanderboegh, who started the "break Democrat HQ windows" shit, and who is now hand-jobbing Darrell Issa on his manufactured "Fast and Furious" scandal, is also an uber-paranoid militia gun goon who's writings have actually inspired one right-wing, anti-government terror attack attempt in the U.S. this past year, which thankfully, was foiled by law enforcement authorities.
By the way - do a Google search on Darrell Issa criminal past. Then tell me that this guy should be in charge of investigating wrongdoing by anyone, in which case I'll tell you that I think you are a goddamn loon.
But back to the core of the story....
What I found even funnier about all of this (funny in the sense of perversely funny), is that this crackpot Vanderboegh is now a Fox "News" contributor, whom they portray to their viewers as an "online journalist." ROFLMAO. I wonder if Roger Ailes, Hanniturd, O'Lielly and the rest of that putrid bunch are aware that this clown Vanderboegh is presently provided housing, clothing and feeding of his fat Teatard ass via receipt of a monthly Social Security disability paycheck from that evil old Federal 'gubmint?
These people are so sickening it makes me .... well sick.
I am wholly, unrepentantly convinced that the day in which a clear majority of Americans comes to their collective senses and kicks these assholes to the sidelines of public discourse irrelevancy, is the day this country can move forward. Until that happens, it is simply going to be the equivalent of fighting the Scopes Monkey Trial all over again, day in and day out.

Maybe Orwell Was Right and Was Simply Off By a Few Decades?
At the risk of offending those of you (including the Gadfly himself) who have friends or family members working as police officers or in some other form of public-facing law enforcement - I am not afraid or ashamed to state that in my view there are way too many people who simply have no business being in a uniformed law enforcement position, and by proxy, granted all of the powers that go with that type of work.
This video is just outrageous and infuriating to me. Repeatedly tasering a woman, whom the police initially identified as being the victim of a crime, while she is hog-tied, shackled and lying on her back in the rear seat of a squad car is just unconscionable at any level.
However, as disgusting as this incident is, it points to a much larger issue - which is the continued militarization of the civilian police forces in this country. I keep seeing in the news story after story of small town police departments purchasing tanks, military-style assault vehicles, heavy weaponry, drones, and hi-tech surveillance equipment. And also hardly a week goes by without reading some article about some poor bastard who has died while being electrocuted by some taser-happy cop. I mean really - one need look no further than at the way the major police departments across the country brutally handled the non-violent Occupy protesters to see that something is terribly wrong here.
At some point, if you carefully analyze all of this shit, you can't help but wonder what is coming down the pike as far as the survivability of this country's freedoms go. Here we have the United States Supreme Court, the highest law in the land, bestowing citizenship status to big multi-national corporations. You have Wall street con artists not being arrested and held accountable for their financial crimes. Then there is the ever escalating domestic surveillance of people's privacy on the internet and in their private e-mail and phone communications. Combine all of that state-sponsored activity to the rapidly increasing wealth gap between the 1% elites and everybody else, the wholesale destruction of unions, the legislative assaults on worker's rights, and the obvious slow burn disintegration of the middle class - and it is becoming quite clear that a seismic shift is occurring in America's socio-economic structure - and that shift does not bode well for the future of representative democracy as we've known it.
I keep harping on it and saying it and will say it again -- y'all better start paying attention to this fucking stuff, because the last thing I want to hear from anyone when the proverbial shit is hitting the fan is, "oh woe is me - how could I have known?"
