So, I've come back to my old town crier hangout here on Blogger because after Tuesday's election when a tepid majority of my fellow citizens chose to put a career criminal, sexual deviant, and Putin cock sucker back in the American people's White House. It has become crystal clear to me that social media outlets owned by fascist-leaning immigrants like Elon Musk and apathetic billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg contributed significantly to this political tragedy.

Here's the reality - social media in it's present state and form is a goddamned scourge on our society.  It is a plague on our national psyche, on our national soul, and on our collective human spirit.

Any good that is engendered by social media is vastly offset by all of the societal damage it causes.

Anyway, to get to the point, I am done with social media.  No more Twitter (aka Xshitter), no more Facebook.  Fuck Instagram.  Fuck TikTok.  Fuck all of these anti-humanity social-media outlets that give platforms to and amplify the voices of the worst fucking people on this planet.

I don't want to be a part of any of it anymore, mostly because I don't have to be a part of it anymore, but also because I refuse to be a useful tool of people who want to destroy America and American democracy.

And to those who cast a ballot for the orange rapist, do you really, honestly believe that the governing agenda that these fucking fascist pricks have in store for this country isn't going to negatively impact your beautiful conservative lives?  Do you really believe that, and are you all really that fucking dumb and naive?

Take a good hard look folks -- they are coming for every one of us and they don't give shit if you're a card-carrying member of MAGA or not.

Hi.  Hello, hello, is this thing working??  [whack! whack!]

Er, er, er hmm . . . This is your friendly neighborhood Gadfly here, back where all the Gadfly hooliganism began before Facebook and Twitter, now known as Xshitter, came along.

It feels good to be back in the old Blogspot saddle and finally stepping away from the big two shithole social media platforms run by the billionaire shithead bobsey twins Elmo and Zuckerterd.  No more fucking Elmo bots, no more Nazis, no racists, no misogynists, no fascists, no Putin bootlickers, no skeevy advertisers, no rich Nigerian princes wanting to friend The Gadfly.

Anyway, look for more postings to come here as The Gadfly shuts down Twitter and Facebook accounts and gets his footing back on solid terra firma on this platform.  It's a been a while and the Gadfly's long languished Blogger and html editing skills have waned a bit and need a refresher.

Welcome back My friends To the show that Never ends. We're so Glad you could Attend Come inside! Come inside!

 So, The Gadfly has decided that he has about had enough of this perversion of a communication method that is commonly referred to as "social" media, and so it's long past time to resurrect this shitty little blog and not very well-known political house of ill repute.

First things first:  Welcome back any old time followers.  Likewise to newbies.

Secondly, henceforth, The Gadfly will eschew that first-person reference and simply use 'I' in reference to himself, mkay?  Besides, it's a pain in the ass typing all of them "The Gadflys."

This blog will be home base from here on out, as well as a place where I can be contacted directly in lieu of the social media platforms.

Since old school blogging like this isn't very conducive to the scattershot posting capabilities like exist on Facebook and Twitter, I'm going to keep the focus of posts to this blog on three things:

First, on Drumpf, MAGA and their attempts to push fascism on this country.  In doing so, I will be trying to weed out a lot of the superfluous posts like the daily, insane antics of the MAGA monkey House caucus people like Bobo and Marge.  Those people are just side-show freaks even though they are supporters of Drumpf's fascism, and they don't deserve anyone's attention.  I think it's much more important to focus on the leader of this execrable movement and continue informing anyone who cares to learn what he and his enablers are trying to do to this country and democracy.

The other two things I intend to use this personal space for is to share personal interests such as music, cinema, books, cute animal videos, fart sounds, philosophy, etc.  And lastly, I also want to use it as a sounding board for some long-dormant writing projects.  Years ago when I was living in Hollywood, California (yes, that Hollywood), I took a screenwriting course from Michael Hauge and it was a lot of fun, and for a time I aspired to be a Hollywood screenwriter.  Since I'm only a few years away from retirement, that will be one of my high priority, post-retirement goals - to write a screenplay and sell it.  Even if it's only one.

And finally, since I will be erasing my social media profiles at some point, this blog space will be the lasting online legacy of The Frolicking Gadfly, so let's make it memorable, eh.  Have some fun, let your hair down, be true, and for God sake, don't take any wooden nickels.

This Blog Ain't Over 'Till The Gadfly Says It's Over...

 

Stay tuned Gadfly patrons.  The Gadfly's long sojourn into Facebook no man's land is nearing completion.  Nothing of interest or social redeeming value was found on this sad journey in to Mark Zuckerberg's self-absorbed id, and so the time has come to return to our blogspot roots.
