Tom Price (R-GA) told a conservative audience that he wanted his committee to tackle Social Security.

The Gadfly finds this hilarious on many fronts, not the least of which is the fact that Fox "News" loves to beat it's hairless chest and pretend that they and they alone are the champions of free market capitalism, the kind of capitalism of course that Dish Network is practicing here by denying Fox a vehicle for polluting the American public airwaves with their duplicitous bile via Dish's wholly owned cable network unless Uncle Rupert forks over some more money:

Btw - as a measure of just how fucking cynically disingenuous Bill O'Reilly and Fox are, a contract dispute between corporations does not, even in the most bastardized sense of the word, rise to the level of "censorship."  Censorship is the premeditated and deliberate act of examining journalistic and artistic works and removing content that the self-anointed censor unilaterally deems offensive, immoral or harmful to society.

Nonetheless - Dish Network subscribers should take some heart - the month long absence of Fox "News" from their viewing routine has accomplished, if nothing else, an exponential increase overall in their collective IQ as well as their being much more accurately informed on news and current events.

Oklahoma residents are concerned that a proposed bill would make it a crime to wear a hooded sweatshirt, or hoodie, in public on many occasions, according to local news station KFOR.

The wearing of hoods or similar head coverings during the commission of a crime has been against state law since the 1920s, with the original intent of curbing violence perpetrated by the Ku Klux Klan. But the new proposal would also ban an individual from intentionally concealing "his or her identity in a public place by means of a robe, mask, or other disguise" even if he or she were not involved in a crime. Violation of the proposed law would constitute a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $500.

The bill's author, state Sen. Don Barrington (R), said that the goal is simply to help deter crime.

DECEMBER 22, 2014, 3:34 PM EST A Fox affiliate in Baltimore aired a segment on Sunday showing footage from a "Justice For All" demonstration in Washington, D.C. in which it edited a chant to sound like protestors were shouting "kill a cop."

"At this rally in Washington, D.C. protestors chanted, 'we won't stop, we can't stop, so kill a cop,'" the WBFF broadcast said.

But the full footage, flagged by Gawker on Monday via C-SPAN, revealed that the chant was "we won't stop, we can't stop, 'til killer cops are in cell blocks."

The protest was attended by Rev. Al Sharpton. YouTube videos of the misinterpreted chant contain labels such as "Sharpton's 'Go Kill A Cop' March."

Let's view all of this in the context of Rudy Giuliani being the conservative fucking Einstein who against wiser people's advice, including that of the NYPD, drove the decision to locate New York City's emergency command center in the World Trade Center, even after the 1993 terror bombing had occurred there.  That command center, as history sadly denotes, was subsequently destroyed when the 7 WTC building collapsed.  Giuliani then had the fucking gall to pimp his 2008 Presidential campaign on the fact that he just so happened to be mayor of NYC on 9/11, so incessantly and brazenly, that he and his opportunistic campaign were mocked in to the dustbin of history when Joe Biden joked on national tv that a noun + a verb + 9/11 was everything that encompassed Giuliani's platform vocabulary.

Pursuant to that bit of monkey business - allow The Gadfly to get something on the table right out of the chute here - FUCK RUDY GIULIANI!  Fuck his stupid horse-teeth face and fuck everyone who thinks as cynically and as idiotically as him.

It is beyond the pinnacle of hypocrisy for horse teeth Rudy and his right wing moron sycophants on Fox "News" to blame police-brutality protesters and the Democratic Mayor of NYC and the Democratic President for the actions of a lone lunatic who killed those police officers -- even more so before all of the facts of the case have been gathered and vetted and the officer's corpse's are cold.

These are the same phony fucking conservative assholes who kept their big fat, bile filled pie-holes clamped shut tighter than Dick Cheney's sphincter when gun nuts and Cliven Bundy groupies Jerad and Amanda Miller shot and killed two Las Vegas PD officers in the back of the head this past June while they were eating lunch, then draped the Tea Party Don't Tread on Me flag over them as they fled.

Nor have these asshats yet publicly condemned Generalissimo Bundy's followers for aiming sniper rifles at the heads of, and openly stating they would shoot, law enforcement people as those law enforcement people attempted to perform their duties, duties which by the way were, whether agreed with or not, entirely within the construct of existing state and federal laws.

If horse-teeth Rudy and his gang want to have a real honest discussion about how and who's rhetoric inspires people to violence, then by all means, let's have that public discussion -- but -- before we do, let's be goddamn sure that the craven media is put on notice that there will be zero tolerance of their bullshit he-said/she-said, both sides do it fucking nonsense.  Let's talk facts.  Let's have a reality-based, truthful talk about which national cable "News" network, day in and day out, exhorts the Jerad and Amanda Millers of the nation to elevate their own warped vision of democracy and law on a pedestal above the actual laws of the land.  Let's talk about which political movement wants to turn the streets of our communities in to their own juvenile vision of the OK Corral with their pushing of open carry laws in states across the nation - efforts which put the rights of a small minority of gun fetishists above the rights of the majority of people who just want to go to their local restaurant or take their kids to a little league baseball game without worrying whether the jackasses strutting around with and waving their killing toys are sane or not.

The reason it is so amusing to The Gadfly is that just a few months ago these same braying jackasses were embedding themselves, and cheerleading the cause of self-appointed rebel commandant, Field Marshal Cliven Bundy and his army of sniper-rifle toting wingnuts, of which more than a few were vowing to slaughter law enforcement people for the crime of ---- enforcing the law.

Dear Santa - Please Bring This Woman a Straight Jacket for Christmas . . .

The Gadfly begs forgiveness from dear readers for the scarcity of posts recently.  The holiday season and money-making ventures have simply hogged The Gadfly's free time these past several weeks.  Be patient as we traverse the remaining days of this year and as The Gadfly gears up for a renewed commitment in the coming new year to exposing the democracy hating goose-steppers in our midst.

A lot has occurred the past few weeks and The Gadfly will get around to talking about much of it soon, but one incident that really blew The Gadfly's mind was this:

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R., Minn.) knew the White House Christmas party this week would be her last chance as a member of Congress to speak directly to President Obama. She didn’t waste the opportunity.

Despite the objections of her family members, who didn’t want to be embarrassed, Bachmann said she wanted to give some “substantive comments” to the president. She waited until pictures were taken and her family walked off the stage.

“I turned to the president and I said, something to the effect of, ‘Mr. President, you need to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities, because if you don’t, Iran will have a nuclear weapon on your watch and the course of world history will change,’” she told the Washington Free Beacon.

“And he got this condescending smile on his face and laughed at me and said, ‘Well Michele, it’s just not that easy.’ And I said to him, ‘No, Mr. President, you’re the president, it will happen on your watch, and you’ll have to answer to the world for this.’ And that was it and then I left. Merry Christmas,” she said with a laugh.

But not only does The Gadfly blame the people who vote for nutjobs like Bachmann and her ilk, he also blames those Americans who were just too fucking lazy or too selfish or too apathetic to drag their oh-so special asses to the polls this past November.  The Gadfly is not enamored with the Democrats, or Obama (any more) for that matter kids, but if it means keeping loony-toon hyenas like Bachmann away from the power to legislate over The Gadfly's life, then the choice is clear, and more importantly, it's imperative to exercise that choice.
