I don't know why the Tea Bagger lady resigned.  Racism is, quite frankly, a prerequisite for being accepted amongst their ranks, particularly the leadership.  And the proof of that lies in the statement that the racist joke "was greeted with laughter" by the assembled Bagger crowd.  I say let them be, let them keep showing the rest of America what they are truly all about. Give the fuckers enough rope and eventually they will hang the whole lot of their rotten selves.

The head of a Tea Party group in north-central Arkansas said a group leader who told a racist joke at a rally last week stepped down.

Richard Caster, the founder of the Ozark Tea Party, told HuffPost that Inge Marler, a member of the group's steering committee, has left her position following an ice-breaker she told prior to a speech at a June 9 rally. Caster said Marler surprised everyone with the remark, which was not in her original speech.

"I had no idea," Caster said. "She had given me her whole speech, and it was about her growing up in Yugoslavia and coming to America. I am on stage and then she said something not like what she gave me. I was shocked. I looked at the guy next to me and he said 'oh my gosh'."

During her speech, Marler gave what she told the Baxter Bulletin was a joke she found online about black welfare recipients. Marler told the paper that she will stop telling the joke, which was greeted with laughter.

A Sincere Plea ..

I was stationed at Offutt AFB (then SAC HQ) from 1980-1983 - Air Force Radar Technician was my job.  Basically, it was my job to ensure that the base radar equipment was tuned and in and operating flawlessly so that the Air Traffic Controllers didn't crash land a jet plane into the cornfields leading up to the edge of the runway because of false readings from my group's radar system.  Anyhow, for an 18 year old out of high school numbskull like me, it was a stressful job.  That experience turned out to be one of the reasons I made a strategic decision that a life-long military career probably wasn't for me.  Regardless - several years later, that technical training came in handy, and along with those crisis experiences I had gone through, led me to an opportunity to receiving some very rapid OJT in the Telecommunications industry when the then company Telecom tech resigned suddenly.  And thus began my 21 year journey in IT - doing everything from pbx and voicemail systems administration, inside wiring, vendor management, cabling, circuit provisioning, deskside voice services, pbx and voicemail administration, etc., small and large project management, etc....  I've been doing it all up to this day.  I am being advised by my current employer, who shall currently remain nameless, that my position in the company is being "surplussed" soon due to a client making an early termination on a multi-year contract.  Imagine that .. after all the work I've done all these years ... I'm about to become a surplus human being.  Ok -- never mind the (yeah - welcome to the fucking club) --- if anyone knows a Southern California company looking for a TDM or IP voice systems administration tech/administrator with years of experience on Avaya and Siemens pbx platforms, who's currently in training for Cisco CCNA certification, as well as an experienced inside wiring tech .. let me know.  Just a a little networking going on here.  Friends of friends.  ..... What Rick Scott is doing in Florida with his voter purge project is simply put .... anti-American.

Trying to address an issue (voter fraud) that is so rare that one is more likely to be struck by lightning than to have an occurrence of it in their own voting precinct, Scott has re-invigorated the monster program that Katherine Harris created in 1999 and 2000 which was claimed to have the same goal (preventing vote fraud) but which in reality targeted minority and Democratic voters and actually denied several thousand eligible voters the right to vote on that fateful election day ... the same election which gave George W. Bush the state of Florida by a few hundred votes.  This isn't rocket science folks .. the more Democrats and Independents that the GOP can prevent from voting, the better their chances at victory.

The DOJ is suing Scott and the state of Florida over this "vote purge" issue.  Scott is suing the Federal government back.  Guess who's gonna win that battle??  Assholes will be assholes though, and the Medicare fraud crook that the "good" people of Florida elected as their leader is gonna get his dick knocked in to the dirt some day soon.  Can't wait to see it happen.

On a personal note ....

The Frolicking Gadfly was pondering his future a few nights earlier after latently realizing he had recently turned the ripe old age of 50 a couple of weeks ago....  and The Gadfly came to the not-so-easily-reached conclusion that a few adjustments were needed in order to maintain spiritual balance and harmony in his life.

The Gadfly is earnestly working on those adjustments, and who the fuck knows, maybe he'll become somewhat less of an irascible sonofabitch and perhaps even start advocating for conservative views and even vote for Mitt Romney ............. and the best I can hope if that ever happens - is that one of you pricks who calls me your "friend" just grabs my delusional ass and throws me off the 30th floor of a hotel somewhere and puts an end to that bullshit line of thinking.

Obviously I jest, yet it goes without saying that I have no intention of shutting my mouth anytime soon, no matter what lifestyle changes I make.  Just something I thought I would share.
