Vivek Ramaswamy is refusing to back away from a deeply personal attack on his gubernatorial rival, even as fellow Republicans sound the alarm.
The Ohio Republican's campaign is putting $4 million behind a statewide ad featuring Democrat Amy Acton's estranged mother, Donna Arthur, who accuses her daughter of lying about her upbringing, Axios reported Tuesday. Acton has said her mother took her stepfather's side after he sexually abused her when she was a child.
The ad first surfaced on social media late Monday with no disclaimer showing who paid for it. Ramaswamy's campaign later confirmed to Axios that it was behind the commercial, and sources close to the campaign said it performed well among "persuadable" voters in testing.
Acton, a physician, hit back in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
"Between the ages of 10 and 12, I was sexually abused by her husband, while my birth mother did nothing to protect me," she wrote. "I've always known that she was deeply sick and unwell, and it's sad to see Vivek Ramaswamy exploit her all for his own political gain."
Ramenswampy dredges up the mentally ill mother of his Democratic opponent Dr. Amy Acton, and puts the woman in a political ad to say shitty things about her daughter.
Ramenswampy put up this ad knowing full well that Acton had been removed from her mother's custody as a child because she was being sexually abused by her step-father. Acton's mother defended the step-father at the time.
I don't know what kind of political strategy and marketing people Ramaswamy has on his team but whichever ones thought this was a good idea to exploit an elderly, mentally ill person like they've done in this ad should be publicly named, shamed and drummed out of politics permanently.
But this goes to show just how low, how scummy, how dirty, how hateful, how mean-spirited these fucking MAGA politicians are. They are just bad people - period. And it goes without saying that people who are this ruthlessly unethical sure as fuck do not deserve the privilege of governing over other Americans and making decisions that impact those American's lives.
MAGA politicians like this little walking, talking shit stain Vivek Ramaswamy want governing power not because they have some noble idea of using their elected position and power of their office to better the American people's lives. No, these fuckers want governing power so they can use that power to hurt people they don't like. They also want power, as we've seen with Drumpf and his boys, to enrich themselves off the backs of the American taxpayers.
That's what attracts vindictive, unethical little creeps like Ramaswamy to the Putin-fellating kiddie rapist in the White House and his MAGA movement. They love Drumpf for the simple reason that Drumpf hates the same people they do and wants to hurt the same people they want to hurt.
Anyway, it looks like the backlash to Ramenswampy and his scumbag tactics is growing in Ohio. Let's hope that backlash blows a hole the size of the sun in the little cretin's plans to be the next US Senator from Ohio.
