Never let it be said that I fail to acknowledge and applaud Republicans when they are right.
Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski makes clear her view of Drumpf helping his old pal Uncle Vlad with his announcement of the lifting of US sanctions on Russia selling oil and diesel:

"Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is breaking with Donald Trump over his new diesel deal with Vladimir Putin. She says he’s ignoring the tools Congress just handed him.
“A few weeks ago, Congress overwhelmingly passed legislation to increase sanctions and tariffs on Russia,” Murkowski wrote on X late Friday. “The President should be using those authorities instead of allowing Russia to export diesel, rake in revenues, and continue its catastrophic war in Ukraine.”
“We can discuss Russia’s return to global energy markets once the war is over,” she added, “but in the meantime, we need to cut off everything fueling it.”
Her post linked to an Associated Press report on the deal, headlined “Trump strikes deal with Putin to get diesel in sharp reversal of US policy.”
The deal comes as diesel prices hit record highs in farm states during harvest season, the New York Times reported Friday. Fuel prices have climbed nationwide since Trump launched his war against Iran, and Republicans are scrambling to hold on to seats three weeks before the midterms."
Murkowski nails it on the head about Drumpf's gift to Russia.
And I wish there were more level-headed members of her party who held the same view and had the same courage to speak out publicly and say so.
Instead of sucking up to a wanted war criminal and mass murderer, the United States should be using every power we have as leader of the free world to diminish the ability of Putin to export his blood diesel, to rake in revenues off the slaughter of Ukrainian civilians which that blood diesel facilitates, and to continue his catastrophic war of aggression against Ukraine, which he plans to expand to wider Europe if allowed to.
Drumpf is literally throwing a lifeline to Putin at a time when Russia is reeling from massive losses of men and military assets in their four-year, illegal war against Ukraine. Ukraine has Russia on their heels due to their advanced drone capabilities decimating Russia's oil and gas industry infrastructure, inflicting damage that has left Russia in a very bad place to not only meet the oil and gas demand of their military, but also civilian demand.
The US has a chance to let Putin sink in the quagmire quicksand of his own making, but Drumpf is now throwing a rope to the old Russian savage, and there really is no cause to wonder why. Quite simply put - it's because that is something one does as a true and loyal 'friend.'
But good for Lisa Murkowski for openly stating the reality of this travesty announcement by Drumpf to drop sanctions on purchasing that monster Putin's oil and diesel. At least there's a spark of moral hope remaining in the GOP senate caucus for some measure of redemption for their party.
