Putin's government took ownership stakes in private industries throughout Russia and over time, Putin's power grew, his greediness grew and he started eliminating the owners and CEO's of those companies (falls from hotel balconies, small aircraft crashes, poisonings, etc.), and eventually transferring ownership and assets of those companies to his personal wealth portfolio.
Drumpf reveres brutal, authoritarian kleptocrats like Putin because he aspires to the very same level of obscene wealth and unrestrained power that they have. That is the sum total of all that DonOld aspires to in his miserable, valueless life.
These American business owners have every reason to be wary and suspicious of Drumpf wanting his corrupt government to be a financial business partner in their companies.
I would seriously call in to question the competence and stewardship of a company owner/CEO who was not alarmed and guarded against a lifelong mobbed-up con artist, business fraudster, bank fraudster, tax fraudster, and convicted felon wanting to have a "stake" in their company.
