Yeah, just what American Navy personnel need right now as they sit precariously on top of a powder keg that has the potential of being the catalyst for World War 3 - a right wing MAGA conspiracy whack job leading them in to harm's way:

"While Cao, unlike Phelan, has a military service background, he became known in political circles as a MAGA Senate candidate in Virginia in the 2024 election, where he lost to Democratic Senator Tim Kaine. Previously, the retired Navy captain also ran for the House in 2022.
During the campaign cycle, Cao, a 54-year-old Vietnamese refugee who moved to Virginia as a child, turned heads with a series of bizarre interviews and unhinged claims as he campaigned in the deep purple state where he lost in 2024 by eight points.
“There’s a place in Monterey, California called Lover’s Point. The original name was Lovers of Christ Point. Now it’s become, they took out the Christ. It’s Lover’s Point. And it’s really, Monterrey is a dark place now, a lot of witchcraft and the Wiccan community has really taken over there,” Cao said."
Oh - he is also a 'stolen valor' asshole claiming publicly to have suffered combat injuries while serving in the US military but no service records exist to back up his claim that he suffered such injuries, much less was ever near an actual theater of war.
Umm . . . something tells me no good will come from the appointment of an individual who believes that 'witches' have taken over the coastal city of Monterrey, California, and who has lied about his military service as the head of the world's most powerful naval forces.
Drumpf continues his assholery of appointing the least qualified, least worthy or deserving, most incompetent, and most obsequious people to high places in his government and the results of those personnel decisions speak for themself (Noem, Bondi, Patel, Chavez DeRemer, etc.).
This clown Hung Cao is no exception to that rule.
