When the Military Fears the POTUS, Perhaps 'We The People' Should Too

It's disconcerting that there is even the slightest bit of debate about this, but the officer corps in the ranks of our nation's military should not be feeling "very scared" of their own government.

Something is very, very, very wrong when some of the actual very best and smartest people in our society who are in the service to the defense of our nation and our American freedoms are feeling "very scared" about how their president is going to misuse them and their military leadership for his personal political machinations.

"Current military lawyers and legal experts told Military.com the administration's firings of the Air Force, Army and Navy's top judge advocates general politicizes and sets an alarming precedent for a crucial job in the military, all as President Donald Trump has mused about using the military in unorthodox and potentially illegal ways.

Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced late Friday evening the firings of the top legal officers for the military services -- those responsible for ensuring the Uniform Code of Military Justice is followed by commanders -- as well as the Joint Chiefs chairman, the Navy's top officer and Air Force vice chief.

As part of the judge advocates general purge, Air Force Lt. Gen. Charles Plummer and Army Lt. Gen. Joseph Berger were fired. Navy Rear Adm. Lia Reynolds remains in the position because she was already performing the duties of the top lawyer for the sea service following the resignation of Vice Adm. Christopher French late last year. French had been in the job as the Navy's top lawyer for just a few months."

Drumpf and that day-drunk, Fox "news" flunky laughingstock Hegseth who he appointed as his "War Secretary" are purging any officer in the JAG ranks who essentially will not commit to unquestioningly doing Drumpf's unconstitutional and illegal bidding.

That is one of the many classic methods employed by dictators in their pursuit of authoritarian power - by removing any high up and mission critical military officers perceived to be disloyal to the strongman leader, and further corrupting the leadership ranks of the military, essentially "strong-arming" them in to being more pliable in supporting the dictator's traitorous agenda.
