Despot Don the Con's ICE Hooligans are Itching to Kill With Impunity

Drumpf's ICE goons keep getting caught lying to the courts about their violent encounters with the citizenry of the communities they are terrorizing.

The same is happening with many of the criminal cases that puppy murderer Kristi Noem's DHS and apparatchik District Attorneys like that drunken TV judge clown Jeanine Pirro in Washington D.C. are bringing against protesters.  Their cases are getting laughed out of courts and juries are refusing to indict on the the clearly 'Trumped-up' charges.

And while the criminal justice process might prove illuminating on this incident, DHS may never correct its falsehoods about it or divulge anything to Congress shedding light on what really happened. We constantly talk about how the congressional GOP is enabling Trump’s lawlessness, whether it’s his likely illegal impoundment of funds, his military deployments to conduct domestic law enforcement, his extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean Sea, and more. But this GOP abdication is also facilitating the spread of state-sponsored disinformation.

The people are awash in propaganda and lies about what their own government is doing to them, with Congress utterly checked out of the fact-finding business and increasing signs that the free press is retreating in the face of the authoritarian onslaught."

 

America stands at the precipice of a historic moment not only in it's own history, but world history.

Will the people of the land of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams succumb to the devilish lures of the same cancerous nationalism and fascism that tore Europe asunder and engendered mass death around the globe for several years less than a century ago?

Or will the 'better' Americans finally awake from their slumber, put aside their petty political differences, and unite as a single voice and force to put down this rabid dog of a movement called 'MAGA,' and once again emancipate freedom and democracy from the tentacles of autocratic authoritarianism?

I used to think that was always going to be the case - that the better Americans in this country would at some point step forward and say enough is enough.  I'm not so certain that is what will occur any more, and it makes me wonder if this is what it felt like to have been one of those "good" German citizens in 1930's Germany watching your nation be taken over by boorish and murderous thugs while most of society willfully turns a blind eye to it.
