Political Violence is Only Bad When it Happens to Conservatives

Just a reminder that just a mere two months or so ago, a right wing loon targeted and shot and killed two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers in their own homes and was poised to kill many more:

"MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities in Minnesota said Monday that the man arrested in a Saturday attack that killed one state lawmaker and left another wounded had a "hit list" of 45 elected officials — all Democrats.

"Political assassinations are rare. They strike at the very core of our democracy," said acting U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson for the district of Minnesota. The details of what happened, he said, are "even worse. They are truly chilling. His crimes are the stuff of nightmares.""  

 

Apparently America's favorite pastime of gun violence doesn't register with MAGA Americans unless that violence claims one of their own as happened yesterday with Charlie Kirk in Utah. 

When the Minnesota Democrats were gunned down in their homes by the right-wing guy in June, there were no words of outrage expressed from those in the MAGA sphere of influence.  None.  Drumpf himself being the vindictive prick he is even refused to call Minnesota Governor Tim Walz or the families of the murdered Democrats to console them.

But yeah, both Drumpf and MAGA can just fuck right off with their faux outrage over Charlie Kirk's killing.  I am not going to take any hypocritical bullshit from the very same people who laughed and made fun of Nancy Pelosi's 86-year old husband being attacked and having his skull bashed in by a hammer-wielding MAGA thug.  Nor am I moved by the crocodile tears of the people who approved of the violent January 6th attack on the US capitol that claimed the lives of five people including two police officers and put hundreds of other police officers in the hospital.

And I would be remiss if I failed to mention that these same conservative assholes rending their garments over Charlie Kirk are the same bastards who laugh and cheer as ICE goons are violently ripping immigrants away from their jobs, communites, and families and shipping them off to third-world torture prisons.

So, you will just have to forgive me for not getting all choked up about what happened to Charlie Kirk.  Was Kirk's assassination awful?  Yes.  Was it immoral?  Yes.  Was it evil?  Yes.  Was it unexpected?  No.  Charlie Kirk immersed himself and reveled in a world of targeted hate, bigotry, misogyny, and intolerance.  His death was a natural byproduct of the environment that he and his supporters helped to create and foster.
