Gee, ya think? Let's hope this "backfiring" means more and more Americans are beginning to pay attention to Drumpf's authoritarian power grab.
Drumpf, in his capacity as the President of the United States of America, wanting to team up with a Central America banana republic to build an offshore gulag site to incarcerate anyone that he and his corrupt henchmen see fit to send there, including native born, "homegrown" Americans, should be a massive wake-up call to anyone that truly loves this country and truly values our democracy and freedoms.
And yes, I am fully aware that Drumpf's toadies are publicly saying that they would only do this for violent criminals, but Drumpf has publicly stated on multiple occasions his desire to lock up his political opponents and members of the media. He is a prolific liar, his toadies are prolific liars, and not a goddamn word that comes out of their professional liar pieholes is to be trusted.
Drumpf told everyone in the runup to the 2024 election that he wanted to rule the United States of America like a dictator. He was not joking about that. The moves he is making to purge the government of ANYONE not swearing personal loyalty to him says he was not joking. Gutting the military of competent and experienced leaders and putting our combined fighting forces under the "leadership" of a chronic drunk, D-grade Fox "news personality who was accused of rape and has ties to white nationalists was not joking. And installing pre-approved, yes-men toadies in his cabinet, DOJ, and White House who would eagerly do his unconstitutional, and I would surmise even criminal bidding, is not joking.
"But it also is having a reverse effect. It's stopping illegal immigrants in America that are ready to go home, that don't want to stay in the United States, that get the message and are ready to leave."
Undocumented migrants won't be as willing to turn themselves in to law enforcement if they're afraid of getting swept into a torture prison in another country, Scarborough said.
"It's got them afraid to go home, it's got them afraid to go to an ICE office, it's got them afraid to go to their local sheriff or their local police officer and say, 'Hey, I'm not here legally, I want to go home – how do I do it?' Well, the Trump administration has the responsibility, if they want that to happen, they're going to have to show that there is a pathway for people that are here illegally to go home and not end up in a prison in El Salvador," Scarborough said."
