The Gadfly tries, in vain mostly, to find humor in the conservatives and their wholly fucked up world views, but there are some subjects that come along now and again that truly showcase the insanity of these assholes wherein it just simply makes The Gadfly's blood boil over.
Observe (oh - and note that it's another story from the deep red state of Idaho):
In a deeply religious section of Idaho, a Republican state representative says that the state has no right to protect children from their parents who refuse them needed medical treatment in favor of faith healing.
“Children do die,” says Rep. Christy Perry. And it’s fine with her if Idaho children die in the name of God. Perry’s district includes many followers of a religious cult, Followers of Christ, that eschews medicine. She says that the sect’s members are more comfortable confronting death when it happens to their children.
“I’m not trying to sound callous, but [people calling for reform] want to act as if death is an anomaly. But it’s not. It’s a way of life,” she says.

The Gadfly cannot decide what is more fucking horrifying about this woman -- the fact that she puts a living, out of the womb, human child's life on the same priority level as a pet hamster or goldfish, or that she's more concerned with the medieval religious rights of her knuckle-dragging constituents than she is about the right of helpless children to have access to possibly life-saving health care.
"Children do die," the harpy intones! To which The Gadfly would reply --- not needlessly they don't you stupid, ignorant fucking twat! And btw -- who fucking gave you and your loony toons religious friends the power of life over these innocent children who have no say in the matter of their right to life?
Honestly ... when are the sane people gonna stand up and start fighting back against this lunacy and these freaks who want to transform America into their nightmarish, King James biblical version of Talibani Afghanistan?
Folks better wake up soon and take stock of what these assholes are all about.
