You see dear readers - this is how the conservatives manufacture rat-fucking scandals out of the politics-infused fart bubbles which they capture exiting their own gaping sphincters.
Observe:
Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham restated a debunked talking point Sunday, claiming that the body of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens was "dragged through the street" following the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.
"We have to not forget, we have four dead Americans," Ingraham said during a roundtable discussion about the Benghazi attack on ABC's This Week. "The ambassador's body was dragged through the street. Okay? It was beyond heartbreaking and beyond infuriating."
Umm, well except for the minor detail that the Ambassador's body was never dragged through the streets - at least according to press accounts and and a slew of government reports which have rehashed this unfortunate incident over and over again, including one investigation controlled by the Republican House:
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee -- controlled by Republicans -- reported that "local Libyans found the remains of Ambassador Stevens in the main diplomatic building at the Benghazi Mission and transported him to the hospital. The Libyans apparently did not realize who the Ambassador was, but they alerted the State Department of his location by using the cell phone that was in the Ambassador’s pocket. Libyan doctors tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate Ambassador Stevens upon his arrival at the hospital."
After reading three government reports and independent press accounts, we find that Stevens, overcome by smoke from the fire, was brought to a Libyan hospital where efforts to revive him failed. To be dragged through the streets implies disrespect. There are no reports of public abuse of his body.
This claim was debunked long ago and the truth has been widely available. We rate Ingraham's claim False.

ABC News brought Laura Ingraham in to their organization, presumably to blunt critics on the right who are incessantly whining about how "liberal" the mainstream media is - which btw, is another manufactured grievance that the conservatives like to employ to whip their vacuous rubes into a frenzy. But that is a whole other subject which The Gadfly will leave for another day.
Ingraham is not a dumb woman. She knows how the game works because she has long been an inside operative of the conservative movement and she has been trained well in their Guerilla Warfare tactics of propaganda and lies.
Oh - and not so surprisingly, Ingraham has a history of throwing lies like this out in to the public discourse arena.
Observe:
It strikes me that the far right media machine is kind of like processed foods that pretend to be good for you. You know, the “80-percent fat free” cookies, 50 percent of the calories of which actually come from fat, or the “cholesterol-free” french fries deep-fried in vegetable oil or containing all the components of cholesterol in a different form and having the same deleterious effects on your body?
This is the reality of media outlets llke Fox News. They claim “fair and balanced” and are anything but. Examples could fill an encyclopedia and then some. That’s why we have Media Matters for America. But today I am focusing on just the most recent episode in which Fox News makes a claim, in this case about Planned Parenthood, that is patently and absolutely false.
This week, according to Media Matters, Laura Ingraham claimed on Fox News O’Reilly Factorthat “Planned Parenthood makes most of its money from the abortion procedure” and “without the abortion services, Planned Parenthood is basically out of business.”
This very statement alone underscores two things. One, Laura Ingraham is truly fact-free and so far off the charts of fair or balanced the scale breaks. She either does not bother to do her homework or is purposefully spreading lies.
Two, she is so privileged and out of touch with real people with real needs and real struggles that she has no idea of the potential ultimate effects of her lying on the lives and health of others.http://rhrealitycheck.org/article/2011/02/18/factfree-right-laura-ingraham-lies-about-planned-parenthood/
To plainly state it, Laura Ingraham is a paid prevaricator and propagandist. How ABC News and 'This Week' came to the conclusion that putting a well known, Fox "News" bred professional propagandist on their payroll would bring any credibility to their news organization is eons beyond The Gadfly's comprehension.
It truly is an indication of just how much the credibility and the relevancy of the mainstream media in this country has decayed.
But Ingraham's clownish lying is just one of many inaugural attack salvos that the GOP and the TeaTards are employing at this time to send the message that they are going all in on the Benghazi nonsense politically in the run-up to the mid-term elections later this year - which in The Gadfly's view, signifies that as usual, they have no meaningful legislative agenda to run on, no inspiring economic message for Americans still suffering from the effects of the 2008 financial collapse, no ideas to address the myriad of social ills that plague the country, and no fucking concept of what it means to govern a country of diverse political, social and religious views.
With this Benghazi bullshit, it's all about whipping up the brain-dead rubes in to a frenzy about the commie Negro in the White House and the conniving liberal witch, Hillary Clinton, who very well could be his successor. That is the sum total of the GOP's platform for the mid-term elections in a nutshell.
Either way, the Benghazi circle jerkathon is in full swing dear readers and the TeaTards are going to milk it for every ounce of bogus outrage that they can. And in the process -- the Great American experiment takes one more step towards historical obsolescence.
