Just one more reason, among oh so many, as to why America cannot have nice and decent things:
A Tennessee state senator thinks it's unwise for the Obama administration to brag about how many Americans have signed up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, likening it to the Nazis touting how many Jews were shipped to concentration camps.
State Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) made the comment on his personal blog Monday morning in a post called, "Thought of the day":
"Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of manditory sign ups for "train rides" for Jews in the 40s."http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/05/obamacare-holocaust_n_5267120.html
There is a terrible, terrible disease afflicting the heart, soul and mind of America today. And the DNA genome of that disease is comprised of walking, talking, farting (in lieu of thinking) human turds like this wing nut Republican.
And it most certainly does take a fatally afflicted mindset to conflate attempts to help more of your fellow human beings obtain affordable medical coverage and others from being denied coverage for certain conditions, to Hitler and the Nazis stuffing Jews in to boxcars and shipping them off to the gas chambers and ovens.
What should scare the shit out of sane Americans is that this Republican congress critter is not in any way, shape or form talking out of turn or, saying anything that would embarrass his party peers. His views like this are prevalent in the hard right, conservative, evangelical Tea Party movement circles, and the cretins espousing these ideas are becoming increasingly emboldened by a society that just stands by in muted silence, afraid to loudly and collectively condemn them - when that is the very minimum response deserved.
And The Gadfly will say it once more, if he's said it a thousand times -- the sooner that this emotionally stunted and intellectually primitive movement is crushed, destroyed, annihilated (take your pick of like-meaning synonyms) and relegated back to the primordial fever swamp of ignorance and barbarity whence they oozed -- the nicer, the safer, and the infinitely more saner place that America, no -- the entire fucking planet -- will be.
