Philip Seymour Hoffman's death today reminded The Gadfly of a band that was on the verge of becoming the next "Beatles" . . . and just as Philip was on the cusp of being a great fucking actor, this band rode that same rail . . . but tragedies compounded and ended all hopes of fame.
