Hoodies, Thug Music and Pants-Wetting Fear of "The Other" -- A Defense Strategy for the Modern-Day American Coward . . .

Predictable:

There are two primary reasons why Mr. Michael Dunn, even if re-tried, is very likely not going be going straight to prison for 1st degree murder dear readers.

The first reason is that Michael Dunn lives in an area of the country where a statement in one's defense along the lines of, "That thar' Negro looked at me kinda scary like 'yer honor.  I done feared for mah' life and so ah' had ta' shoot tha varmint " gets nods of agreement from a good portion of the populace.  Secondly - Michael Dunn lives in a state that has a law which codifies the idea that murder by gun is an acceptable response to one having even just the slightest bit of emotional fear that something bad might possibly be visited upon you at the hands of someone else, regardless of whether that other individual is armed or not.

It's madness.  It's cowardice.  And the NRA and the gutless weasel politicians who pushed these stand your ground laws through are going to have a lot more innocent blood on their hands before it's all done and over with.
