Hmmm . . . . . . .
A memo from House leadership to the Republican caucus coaches members on how to speak about unemployment in a compassionate manner, according to the Washington Post.
The memo tells representatives that unemployment is a "personal crisis" and asks them to give "proper consideration" to an extension of longterm unemployment benefits.http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/republican-memo-empathy-toward-unemployed
Call The Gadfly cynical if you must dear reader, but does anyone else see the supreme irony here?
If you need a memo from your political party leader instructing you on how to feel and express compassion for your fellow citizens, who are suffering terrible economic hardship, doesn't that really tell the whole story of why the GOP is viewed by many as the soulless party of the 1% and who frankly just do not give a shit about the rest of America?
The Gadfly is at a loss for further words . . . . .
