Some of The Gadfly's conservative acquaintances have tried to mitigate the journalistic and ethical malfeasance of Fox "News" by claiming that Bill O'Reilly is actually a pretty smart guy and usually right about things.
The Gadfly has watched enough of O'Reilly's blustering over the years to know that that is just pure, unadulterated bullshit.
Jon Stewart agrees with The Gadfly:

O'Reilly is just as ignorant and just as much of a misinformer as the rest of the bobbleheads on Fox. He just simply is more effective at portraying himself as less of a demagogue and prevaricator than the rest of his Fox brethren are - that's all.
Oh - and is The Gadfly the only one who thinks that perhaps lighting up a doobie now and then might actually help Billo deal with his anger management and asshole problems?
