Bill Maher asks the question as to why it is that Republicans are much more inclined to pardon and renew their faith in their moral misfits than Democrats are:

It is because Republicans are infinitely bigger hypocrites whose values aren't at all based on concepts such as honor, fairness and truthfulness, but instead are borne entirely out of their interminable thirst for ever more political power and authoritarian supremacy.
