Donald Trump's former chief strategist has vowed to go to war against the president's opponents, after being fired from his job at the White House.
Steve Bannon, who has returned as head of ultra-conservative website Breitbart News, said he would fight for the agenda that won Mr Trump the election.
"I've got my hands back on my weapons," he said. "It's Bannon the Barbarian."
Mr Bannon helped shape the America First campaign message but fell foul of more moderate White House forces.

The Gadfly has contended for some time that the right wing media septic tank byproduct known as Breitbart "News," very similarly to it's mentor Fox "News," is not only not a "news" organization, it has absolutely nothing to do with the mostly honorable profession of news journalism.
Steve Bannon just admitted as much. Bannon views Breitbart as one of his "weapons" to be used to wage "war" against Drumpf's detractors and and anyone who opposes Drumpf's agenda in addition to utilizing it to rapaciously promote his own worldview agenda.
You know who else was in the business of utilizing the mass media as a weapon to further a certain not so very nice monster's political machinations? This guy:

That's Joseph Goebbels. Goebbels is famous for having employed his crafty media skills to promote another narcissistic lunatic to a then war weary nation who, at the time, had a chip on their shoulder the size of Steve Bannon's booze-soaked nose and were in perilous economic times.
Goebbels plied his trade -- now commonly referred to as propaganda -- quite effectively as history now shows. He managed to convince a gullible nation that all or most of their nation's woes weren't from their leader's penchant for warmongering and losing, but actually the fault of the Jews, all other minorities, liberals, intellectuals, artists, and and anyone else who didn't have a place in dear Adolf's "master race" society.
Let's be clear -- The Gadfly is happy that Steve Bannon is out of the White House. His short, alt-right presence roaming the hallowed halls that many other greater Americans have tread, will leave an indelible stain on the national honor for some quite some time.
But The Gadfly will not lie in telling you that he is a bit troubled by Bannon's return to the media "empire" known as Breitbart (The Gadfly refuses to call them "News").
At Breitbart, Steve Bannon will be free to be use his very important public platform to peddle the exact same pseudo-intellectual, alt-right conservative clap-trap and disinformation to the poorly educated, the poorly informed and the narcissistic, belligerent assholes who thought it would be funny to vote in a supremely unfit and unqualified buffoon like Drumpf for the most important job on the planet -- leader of the free world.
It remains to be seen just how influential Bannon and Breitbart actually believe themselves to actually be. And The Gadfly wouldn't wager anything on that point only because we have already been witness to just how fleeceable and irresponsible a sizable voting bloc of the American public really are. Either way, as with any dangerous reptile, it would be wise to keep a close eye on Bannon and his snake pit at Breitbart because -- well because snakes are snakes and they do snake-like things -- that's why.
