One of the original lineup members of the seminal punk rock band The Ramones, Tommy Ramone passed away yesterday.  Only mid-history drummer replacement Marky remains.

The Gadfly tips his hat to The Ramones for showing him that you don't have to go along with the crowd in order to be someone.  Sometimes, being someone is simply all about being antagonistic and unaccommodating to the status quo.  Either way, fuck 'em if they don't like it.  The world is full of self absorbed assholes running around trying to impress other self absorbed assholes.  The Ramones showed us that none of that bullshit mattered.  What mattered was each and every one of us being ourselves and being true to ourselves.  Period.
