"Job Creators" - my fat ass...

Well, well, well...

I think the bill’s dead,” a transportation industry source said to The Hill on Friday. “I don’t think they can fix what they have in front of them. Kicking it up to the leadership probably gives it a chance…but every time they get to the five-yard line, they move the goal posts back.”
Lawmakers have until June 30 to reach a deal on transportation spending before the current funding mechanism for road and transit projects runs out. [...]
Boxer said that the House lacked “urgency” and “leadership” in the highway negotiations. [House Transportation Committee Chairman John] Mica countered that the Senate “appears unwilling to compromise at all” on House provisions, like mandating the approval of the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline.
This isn’t the first time House Republicans have jeopardized millions of transportation jobs by demanding approval of the pipeline. They threatened to walk away from negotiations early this month for that reason, and in March nearly caused a transportation shutdown before passing a short-term re-authorization. The implications aren’t small: 1.9 million workers will have to walk off the job without re-authorization of highway funds. Senate Democrats estimate that the long-term authorization package will create an additional one million jobs on top of that.

There you go folks!  Your incredible GOP job creators hard at work creating, er, not jobs, but creating something - such as major assholes of themselves as usual.

They will gladly fuck with the lives of 1.9 million construction workers, and tie up critical infrastructure projects, all so they can support their deep pocketed, campaign donor pals in the oil industry and their new pet project - the Keystone XL transcontinental pipeline.  Oh and btw - the most generous estimates state that the XL pipeline project will create possibly up to 4000 new jobs at most and the majority of those jobs will be temporary in nature.

Add to that the fact that the XL pipeline is an environmentally hideous project that does not serve America in any way other than to increase the profit margin for the oil barons and it speaks volumes about who is pulling the strings in the halls of Congress.  Hell - even Fox News is on the record as declaring it a shitty idea:  [Click here for Fox Link].

The fact that the Republicans would keep 1.9 million workers from receiving paychecks to support their families and deliberately delay key U.S. infrastructure projects from progressing forward - SHOULD - tell you everything you need to know about them and who it is that they truly serve - I got news for ya' - it ain't you they serve or give a shit about and the sooner you accept that reality the better all of us will be in the long run.

Just think about it.
