The Gadfly had been pondering posting something mundane about the putrid combination of 30 years of Reagan trickle-down economics and conservative zeal for robber baron era de-regulation of big business (most egregiously in the fossil fuel/petro-chemical industries) having basically paved the way for the post-Hurricane Harvey devastation, and more critically, the misery which will be suffered for years and years surely yet to come, in Texas.
However, in deference to that horrible situation, and to the poor souls who are currently suffering enough as it is as a result of those, now confirmedly failed policies, The Gadfly will instead talk about this:
Special counsel Robert Mueller is working with members of the IRS's Criminal Investigations (CI) unit as part of the investigation into possible collusion between President Trump's campaign and Russia, according to a new report.
The Daily Beast reported on Thursday that Mueller has teamed up with agents from the IRS unit dedicated to prosecuting financial crimes such as tax evasion and money laundering. One retired agent from the team said that the FBI doesn't have the "expertise" that the CI unit has when it comes to investigating financial crimes.
“The FBI’s expertise is spread out over so many statutes—and particularly since 9/11, where they really focused on counterintelligence and counterterror—that they simply don’t have the financial investigative expertise that the CI agents have,” Martin Sheil told The Daily Beast. “When CI brings a case to a U.S. Attorney, it is done. It’s wrapped up with a ribbon and a bow. It’s just comprehensive.”
The news comes just a day after it was revealed that Mueller is working with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D) to investigate possible ties to Russia involving Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager.

The Gadfly instantly noticed, in that article excerpt, was unambiguous reference to the two most consistent albatrosses - namely financial skullfuckery and Russia ratfuckery - that have been wrapped around Donald Drumpf's bovine, oil of olay slippery neck since he ego-maniacally just one day, up and decided that he wanted to be the leader of the free world.
And that dear readers is why The Gadfly is so very, very, very interested in seeing some big news come from the Mueller investigation pretty soon. Because The Gadfly believes that Robert Mueller also sees that there is something that is J-U-S-T N-O-T R-I-G-H-T about any of this shit and the bottom of it all needs to be gotten to.
Robert Mueller is going to be to Trump what a Chinese 267.8 Mph Maglev train would be to an old doofus, half-deaf boozer sitting in his stalled Model T on the tracks at the rail crossing as the Maglev bears down.
Mueller is going to give (or gift?) us all, , every god-blessed one of us The Gadfly believes, some very fascinating insight as to how an almost comically amoral, lazy-minded, sorry excuse of a sleazy used car salesman, and mass media parasite, who had the fortune in life to have been jettisoned 'twixt comfortably pecunious (go look it up) thighs, and with a fatherly bequeathal tucked under his smallish arm (hence the hands thing), gets precisely to the pinnacle of world power where he finds himself at today?
And by god, we better get the ever-loving truth about what these fucking people, these so-called, self-professed patriotic"Americans," are doing playing a game of dirty Twister! with a bunch of Russian intelligence moles, dirty-moneyed Russian oligarchs, Russian mobsters and NosferaPutin his murderous, dictatorial self.
The Gadfly deserves to hear that truth. Every American in this country deserves to hear that fucking truth. The whole of it all.
