It's Not Insensitive. It's The Truth . . .

Shazam!  And there it is. :

That's likely to leave some tire tracks on the foreheads of a few victim playing right wingers.

Bill Maher has a right to gloat (see video starting at 4:37 mark) about the prospective annihilation of some prominent conservative, climate change denying spokespeople's homes that have the unfortunate misfortune of being in hurricane Irma's Floridian lawn mower path.

The Gadfly hopes Maher continues to gloat about such karmic irony.

The Gadfly hopes other people with public platforms like Maher decide to speak up and do so as well.

Somebody has to point out that conservatives have stubbornly dismissed and smugly pooh-poohed the views of 97% of the world's climate scientists for the better part of a couple of decades now, and continue to do so, even as boot-to-the-head evidentiary reality is whacking them upside their fat melons.

Conservatives have mercilessly mocked former Vice President Al Gore since 2006 for his seminal documentary "An Inconvenient Truth, and it's sequel" which presciently foretold us of these impending dynamic and menacing changes with weather patterns and the resulting impact, to not just our society, but the entire planet.  Shit, if there is any one individual who deserves the right to take a huge, heaping, steamy shit right in the arrogant climate-denier's parade route, it's Al Gore.

But The Gadfly will let Al Gore fight his own battles.  What the bigger point that The Gadfly wants to throw the spotlight on here is -- how fucking long are we as a citizenry going to continue listening to, and granting deference to, the modern-day conservative movement's views on any subject of importance regarding the competent and sane governing of this country, and the ultimate destiny of it's people?  When are the majority of us going to wake up and see the calamitous future that the conservative's dunder-headed mindsets have in store for us as a society and a nation?

Sigh . . . . . .

In 1998, Disney World decided they were going to allow the dreaded gays to have a one-day, rainbow flag waving, gay pride event at their resort.  That old bible banging, conservative icon, Trump deifying, and part-time professional weather prognosticator, Pat Robertson from the 700 Club, issued a somber press release condemning Disney, and even the city and people of Orlando - ominously warning them:

"I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags (gays) in God's face if I were you..."
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1998-06-10/news/9806110076_1_religious-broadcaster-pat-robertson-orlando-gay-days-terrorist-bombs

A few months after that fire & brimstone implied threat to the gays, Disney World and the city and residents of Orlando Florida, Hurricane Bonnie slammed in to the Virginia coastline and ravaged Pat Robertson's CBN/700 Club headquarters facility in Virginia Beach.  Go figure . . . .

Ok - so not only have the conservative movement's leaders been clearly and tragically wrong about, and on the wrong side of history of, nearly every single fucking major, societal-changing (for the better of all) issue in our nation's history -- but they are also, by all available evidence, comically and frighteningly inept weathermen.  And to top that off, it appears that their sway with the big guy in the sky is such that when they pray to him to have him smite their perceived enemies, they end up getting smote themselves.  That, to The Gadfly's discerning eyes, is the pinnacle of of perpetual wrongness, not to mention quite the celestial 'diss'.

Something's gotta give with this troubling situation of the deaf, dumb & blind leading us all forward in to the failed empire abyss.  Let's just hope that that "something" comes before it's much too late to salvage what remains of the Great American Experiment.
