Ohh ... eh ... ummm ... errr .... Whaaa .... ummm ---- Obviously ... Ohh ... eh ... ummm ... errr .... Whaaa .... ummm ... duhhh ... Meh - you know people do fall through the cracks...............

The Gadfly laments the sad reality that the Democrats are either too collectively stupid or too collectively gutless to frame the healthcare debate with the conservatives in these terms.

This video, dear readers, is exhibit #1 in how you deal with the duplicitous propaganda from the right on this issue.  Watching this actually brought tears of joy to The Gadfly's tired old hippie eyes:

As The Gadfly has pointed out in many a previous post -- it truly does tell the story of how useless America's mainstream media has become when information like this has to be disseminated on a cable comedy show in order for it to see the light of day.

Btw - while this was a parody - ridiculing the conservative's easily disprovable claims of America's superior health care system - the guy in the video named Stan Brock and his organization RAM really do exist.  And they really were originally an outfit of medical professionals who flew around to piss-poor third world countries offering free health care services to the poor.  But as they began looking around at what was going on in the United States, they came to the sad realization that there were just as many needy poor in this country who desperately needed their services, and that is why today - 90% of their schedule currently has them serving economically disadvantaged Americans in different U.S. cities from coast to coast.

Which explains the comic relief aspect of the video -- because here you have these right wing conservatives crowing about how America has the greatest health care system in the world, yet in reality (something conservatives avoid like the plague and lepers) we rank only 37th - trailing behind those top tier, modern, civilized nations like Dominica and Morocco and Saudi Arabia and Malta.  Fucking Malta!!!

And of course -- the other part of that comic relief factor has the conservatives claiming that the dreaded Obamacare is going to turn America's healthcare delivery system in to one typically found in third world countries -- when in fact, that is pretty much what we have right now and have had for some time.

Here is something conservatives never want to have an honest, rational conversation about -- when one fifth of your population has no access to basic, affordable health care and where unpaid medical bills (not unpaid credit cards or mortgages) constitute the primary cause of 60% of personal bankruptcies, The Gadfly cannot fathom how anyone with an ounce of intellectual integrity can pronounce that system to be superior to all others in the world.  It is just simply pure, out and out fantasy land thinking - or even more ominously - lies and propaganda being utilized to sway American's political leanings.

Nonetheless - good to see Jon Stewart and the boys are back on track.  All of their shows from this past week were red hot and just devastating in their methodology of peeling back the layers of duplicity and cynicism that mask the ugly, egomaniacal truth behind the conservative's sociopolitical agenda.
