If Consistency Solely for Consistency's Sake Were a Virtue . . . .

It appears that the current leaders of right-wing conservatism are wholly intent on creating yet another generation of brain-dead knuckleheads wallowing in their own victim mentality cesspool:

Rick Santorum: Government-Provided Health Care Is A Plot To Kill People Who Don’t Vote The Right Way
Speaking at a Young Americans for Freedom event on Friday, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) offered an unusual assessment of what happens when “the government is going to be the principal provider of health care for the country.” “It’s actually a pretty clever system,” the former presidential candidate explained, “Take care of the people who can vote and people who can’t vote, get rid of them as quickly as possible by not giving them care so they can’t vote against you.”

Far be it from The Gadfly to tell these "Young Americans for Freedom" how to think, but you have to believe that at some point they are going to come to the tragicomic realization that the neanderthal elders in their movement, who are doing their thinking for them right now, are getting their asses handily kicked in the debates on most of the social issues of national importance.

C' est la vie.
