WWII War Hero Laments What Has Become of his Political Party . . .

GOP elder statesman Bob Dole confirms what The Gadfly has been stating for years - namely that the modern day version of the Republican party, with the culminating hijacking by the Teabaggers, has mutated in to a doctrinal, uncompromising assemblage of extremists who are void of the positive vision and ideas that would make them deserving of leading America forward into the 21st century:

Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-KS) told Fox News Sunday this week that the Senate Republicans are abusing the filibuster and that he doubts he, Richard Nixon, or Ronald Reagan could make it in today’s Republican Party.
Asked his thoughts on the modern GOP, Dole — a former Republican national chairman, the 1976 GOP vice presidential pick, and the 1996 Republican presidential nominee — suggested, to host Chris Wallace, that the party lacks any positive ideas and is no longer a place for even conservative Republicans like himself.

Not that Dole's views matter a whit to the likes of Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann and Ted Cruz, but the fact that he is going public in labeling them as idea defunct authoritarians perhaps will have some sway with the old school GOP establishment and prod them to finally yank the leash on their Teabagging, fundamentalist attack mutts.
