Where's Fox "News" When You Need Coverage of a Real Vote Fraud Story?

Aha!!  The Teabaggers were right!  We got us some real live voting fraud goin' on right here in the good ol' U. S. of A folks!

Suspicious voter registration forms found in 10 Florida counties

Them dirty, stinking, cheatin' goldurn ACORN lovin' Demoncrats!!

Whazz that you say?  There's more to the story? . . . Ok - let's here more about how those filthy double-dealin', dirty dog Dumbocrats is lettin' them negrews and wetbacks vote illegally . . .

WASHINGTON — Florida elections officials said Friday that at least 10 counties have identified suspicious and possibly fraudulent voter registration forms turned in by a firm working for the Republican Party of Florida, which has filed an election fraud complaint with the state Division of Elections against its one-time consultant.
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-voter-registration-florida-republicans-20120928,0,7654954.story

Say what?  The Republicans is involved (again?) in voter registration fraud?  Well I'll be an egg suckin' mule . . .

BTW - The Gadfly is still waiting for conservative wing nuts and their flying monkey brigades to produce a single case of actual, IN-PERSON vote fraud that has benefited a Democratic politician in any election.  Just one case that has been documented, prosecuted successfully and adjudicated accordingly.

That's all I ask.

Band of Fuckers -- Supporting The Troops ... GOP Asshole(s) Style

Which Senator Put a Hold on Veterans Benefits Bill?A routine bill for a cost-of-living increase for military veterans and surviving spouses just got delayed for months because of a secret hold by an unidentified Senate Republican.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/09/27/which-senator-put-a-hold-on-veterans-benefits-bill.html

This is why any time The Gadfly hears a Republican waxing ruefully about their "beloved" troops he just instinctively shove his middle finger down his throat and force gags himself into a dry vomiting fit of laughter.

Let's be honest here.  It is hardly a secret that the troops are nothing more than campaign ad props for Republican politicians and the Tea Party jagoffs.

And this is not the first time that a Republican has blocked legislation aimed at bettering the quality of life of troops here on the home front:

http://www.disabledveterans.org/2011/04/16/republicans-seek-to-cut-1-3-million-veterans/

So to my Republican friends - what are you doing to tell this GOP Senator to identify themselves and asking them why they are holding up a generic, bipartisan bill which will enhance the quality of life of our troops who are time and time again putting their lives on the line for our freedom around the world?

And also ask yourself - why is it always right wing Republicans fucking over our troops this way?  You never hear of any liberals/progressives doing this kind of shit.

Fibber McBachmann and -- Golly!

This is one of the funniest goddamn things The Gadfly has read in quite awhile.  Apparently the National Press Club had a gathering this week and one of the main subjects was how fact-checking by news organizations plays a role in press coverage of political news.  The Associated Press (AP) editor stated that during the GOP debates, the AP had to limit the number of lies told by Republican candidates that they reported on.  No shock there - anybody who watched those debates with a jaundiced eye knew what a big hate-filled lie fest it truly was.  But the AP editor found it necessary to single out one GOP candidate for a special honor.  One specifically, who quite frankly was so prone to belching out lies that the venerable news organization actually had to implement a self-imposed cap on the number of lies that were fact-checked for that individual:

After the session, Drinkard said that there wasn’t an actual numerical quota on Bachmann at the AP. It’s just that they literally could not keep pace with the number of lies she told and were worried that if the AP had gone back and vetted all of  her claims that seemed a bit dubious, the result would “overload” the debate story.

They are talking of course about Minnesota state bird (The Loon) and current Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.  Think about this for a moment.  Here you have a major political figure in a major political party, a presidential candidate who was actually leading in the polls for a period of time, who is caught lying so fucking often that major news organizations have had to limit themselves from reporting on that persons lies lest they be labeled "biased" by that individual's followers and fellow party members.

The Gadfly has followed Tea Party darling Shelly Bachmann's career for some time, much to his stomach's discontent, and knows that Bachmann has a penchant for telling tall tales.  But lord almighty - who knew that she lies so often that news organizations simply cannot keep up with the number of lies being spewed by her piehole?  Shelly is from Minnesota, which is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes.  If she keeps pumping out the lies at her current rate they're going to have to change that motto to the Land of 10,000 Lies.

It really makes The Gadfly wonder as to the collective intellectual capacity of the constituents in her district that keep electing her back in to office year after year.  To simply continue electing a person, who by all available evidence, belongs in a mental institution much more than a governing institution, makes one believe that there quite possibly may be some hallucinogenic substances in the drinking water in Bachmann's district. That's the only explanation I can conjure up for such bizarre, self defeating behavior.

Sean Hannity is a worthless, disgusting, deceitful piece of shit . . .

Hannity Distorts Obama's Words, Claims He Said "Four Dead Americans Are A Bump In The Road"

Sean Hannity is truly one of the slimiest creatures in Rupert Murdoch's deep stable of reptilian pundits.

Hannity quite simply put is a serial liar and a sociopath.  The fact he has a national television platform to spew his lies from really underscores the utter futility and uselessness of the FCC.

Here is the actual, unedited, word for word transcript between Steve Kroft of CBS News and Obama where Obama referenced the "bump in the road" analogy:

KROFT: Have the events that took place in the Middle East, the recent events in the Middle East given you any pause about your support for the governments that have come to power following the Arab Spring?
OBAMA: Well, I'd said even at the time that this is going to be a rocky path. The question presumes that somehow we could have stopped this wave of change. I think it was absolutely the right thing for us to do to align ourselves with democracy, universal rights, a notion that people have to be able to participate in their own governance. But I was pretty certain and continue to be pretty certain that there are going to be bumps in the road because, you know, in a lot of these places, the one organizing principle has been Islam. The one part of society that hasn't been controlled completely by the government. There are strains of extremism, and anti-Americanism, and anti-Western sentiment. And, you know, can be tapped into by demagogues. There will probably be some times where we bump up against some of these countries and have strong disagreements, but I do think that over the long term we are more likely to get a Middle East and North Africa that is more peaceful, more prosperous and more aligned with our interests. [CBSNews.com, 9/23/12]

http://mediamatters.org/research/2012/09/25/fox-distorts-obamas-words-on-democracy-in-the-m/190117

It is clear to any sane, fair minded person reading that exchange that the "bump in the road" reference, taken in it's proper context, was entirely about the Arab Spring uprisings and America's role in helping these fledgling Middle East democracies control extremist, anti-American elements within their own countries and helping these people gain control over their own governing destinies and bring about peace and prosperity to the Mid-East as a whole.

Sean Hannity, bluntly stated, is a worthless, disgusting and deceitful piece of shit for trying to propagandize the tragic event of the Libyan Ambassador's death for partisan political gain.  Rupert Murdoch is a worthless, disgusting and pitiful piece of shit for employing such a worthless, disgusting and deceitful piece of shit like Hannity in the first place since it is now well known what worthless, disgusting and deceitful depths that this piece of shit Hannity is willing to stoop in order to get his worthless, disgusting and deceitful propaganda disseminated to his worthless, disgusting and deceitful piece of shit followers.

BTW - did I mention what a worthless, disgusting, and deceitful piece of shit Sean Hannity is?  Ok - just double checking.

If Greed Were a Virtue, Willard & Friends Would Be Some Mighty Fucking Virtuous MoFo's . . .

The quintessential definition of the word 'grifters':

Its business in retreat, Sun Capital laid off a number of its own employees. Those who stayed were told they would receive no cash bonuses. Instead, everyone was given a bigger slice of the portfolio of companies that, at that time, was losing value every day.
Angry employees fired off a list of dozens of pointed questions to Mr. Leder and Mr. Krouse, asking how much money the two co-founders had been paid and how much they had taken out of Sun Capital. The employees wanted to know how a firm that had just raised a $6 billion fund, and which was collecting about $120 million a year in management fees alone, could possibly be running low on cash.
Mr. Leder and Mr. Krouse had, in fact, already paid themselves handsomely for their giant fund. As 50-50 partners, they kept the first year’s fees, in cash, for themselves, according to former employees. A spokesman for Sun Capital declined to comment.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/22/business/in-a-romney-believer-private-equitys-risks-and-rewards.html?pagewanted=3&_r=2

The heads of Sun Capital are the guys who held the $50,000 a plate fund raiser where Willard gave his now infamous speech in which he slandered half of the American populace as tax-dodging, welfare dependent leeches unworthy of his attention.

You've heard the saying "birds of a feather do flock together" right?  Sun Capital.  Bain Capital.  Conjoined at the hip in the dark art of vulture capitalistic plundering and financial flim-flammery.  These guys are the real leeches on the lifeblood of American enterprise.  They are self glorified paper pushers and fast talking con men who utilize a phalanx of high powered attorneys whom they pay handsomely to worm their way into the U.S. tax code and produce loopholes and exceptions so convoluted and complex, it usually takes government regulators years to untangle the web of deceit, and Congress just as long to pass legislation banning the practices.  Like the vultures they are, they swoop in on unsuspecting, struggling businesses, drain them of what little capital they have left, unceremoniously perform mass layoffs of workers, and then slickly repackage their "investment" and con unwary new investors into infusing fresh cash back in to the company.  On rare occasions, the gamble pays off, the salvaged company regains it's footing and goes on to some modicum of success.  More often than not though, the gamble fails miserably.  Many, oft times long term, workers show up for work one day and are simply told to go home, their job no longer exists.  No severance.  No pension.  Not even a personal thank you for years of loyalty and hard work.  Just a final paycheck and an aggressive shove out the door courtesy of the Ferragamo adorned foot of some smirking Bain or Sun stooge.

And that is exactly what Willard & The Zombie-eyed Granny Starver Paul Ryan intend to do to American democracy and what remains of the American economic dream.

I see some of my friends and family members falling hard for this freak show of R&R.  I would like to believe it's because they have carefully studied the issues, studied the candidates past and present comments about the issues, studied their economic plans and made what they truly believe to be a sensible decision to allow Willard and Ryan access to power.  But I know damn well that they have not performed such due diligence.  Their votes for R&R are motivated primarily by hatred for the Negro, uneducated consumption of Fox "News" lies and misinformation, which they gobble like KFC popcorn chicken nuggets, and just plain ignorance in the belief that the Republican party honestly gives a shit about their interests.  It's sad to watch.

Nonetheless - I plod forward.  I lay the truth and the facts on the table for anyone open minded enough to at least look at it and compare it to what they are hearing from their propaganda media sites.  I encourage people to debate me or others on their merits of their candidates policies and visions.  I fully understand, that for the most part I am simply wasting my time, but the way I see it, if I can sow even one seed of doubt in one single mind, and that seed grows in to full-fledged introspection and healthy skepticism -- then it's all worth the effort.

7 weeks to go people.  To my fellow progressives I implore you to stand your ground.  Don't give an inch.  Battle the lies, the propaganda, and the personal attacks with an unending counter-barrage of the best weapons you have in your arsenal -- the truth and the facts.

Honesty and an unerring belief in the goodness of your cause will be rewarded.

Willard, The Real Slim Shady please stand up? I repeat Willard, The Real Slim Shady please stand up? We're gonna have a problem here....

As if any additional evidence was required demonstrating the hellish depth of contempt that Willard Romney has for a great many of his fellow Americans:

During a private fundraiser earlier this year, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don't assume responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of them. Fielding a question from a donor about how he could triumph in November, Romney replied:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
Romney went on: "[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/secret-video-romney-private-fundraiser

So Willard is of the belief that nearly half of the American populace (around 170 million people) are a bunch of parasitic derelicts who are unworthy of attention from his beautiful mind?

Wow!

It is frightening for me to contemplate how truly deep the disconnect is between this man and reality as most of us know it.  I mean, we already know that the GOP on whole has basically been transformed over the past few decades in to a zombie eyed cult of granny starving supply-siders, but to actually stand in front of a bunch of your elitist peers and give a speech telling those elitists that you believe one half of all Americans are useless, deadbeat slugs is just stunning in it's breadth of moral degeneracy and foppish snobbery.  Totally Fucking Unbelievable is what it is.

I hope this video goes viral.  I hope every American gets a chance to see the abject soullessness of one Willard Mitt Romney and the arrogant vulgarians who want to provide him with power over our lives and  futures.

God help us all of these fuckers ever get complete and total power.

Things For Which I Do Not Need a Study to Confirm That Which is Obvious . . .

From the NO SHIT SHERLOCK? files...

According to a new report by the Congressional Research Service, cutting taxes for the wealthiest does not cause economic growth, despite constant conservative claims that it will. Instead, tax cuts for the rich merely exacerbate income inequality, CRS found:
Throughout the late-1940s and 1950s, the top marginal tax rate was typically above 90%; today it is 35%. Additionally, the top capital gains tax rate was 25% in the 1950s and 1960s, 35% in the 1970s; today it is 15%. The real GDP growth rate averaged 4.2% and real per capita GDP increased annually by 2.4% in the 1950s. In the 2000s, the average real GDP growth rate was 1.7% and real per capita GDP increased annually by less than 1%. There is not conclusive evidence, however, to substantiate a clear relationship between the 65-year steady reduction in the top tax rates and economic growth. Analysis of such data suggests the reduction in the top tax rates have had little association with saving, investment, or productivity growth. However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution.
GDP growth, business investment, and a host of other economic indicators were all stronger during the 1990s, after taxes were raised on the rich, than during the supply-side eras of Presidents George W. Bush and Reagan.
http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/09/17/857861/study-tax-cuts-rich-no-growth/

These studies are fine and do confirm what anyone who has been paying attention and objectively monitoring this stuff for years could confirm.  The problem is not that it has been definitively proven that supply-side/trickle down economics has been an abject failure.  The problem is that the conservative movement has turned into a dangerous cult of believers who not only steadfastly refuse to believe all of these studies and the expert evidence which completely exposes their school of economic thought as the fraud that it is, but they keep doubling down on that fraud over and over and over again and forcing that fraud upon the American people.

If the media in this country weren't so contaminated by it's corporate heritance, perhaps the truth of what a raw deal the average American has been getting these past 35 years compared to how fabulous things have gotten for the wealthiest elites just might resonate a bit more, and the anger which should emanate from the masses knowing that truth, might cause the citizenry to more forcefully demand change.

The media in this country is in dire need of a thorough purging and a restoration of The Fairness Doctrine is a damn good place to start.

More Proof Modern Conservatism Is a Mental Illness . . .

Panel Decides Obama Will Stay On Kansas Ballot Despite Birther Objections

A board of three elected Republican officials decided to allow President Barack Obama to remain on the Kansas ballot during a brief meeting on Monday, despite the protest of California lawyer/dentist Orly Taitz, arguably the nation’s most infamous “birther.”
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/09/kansas_birther_kris_kobach_orly_taitz.php?ref=fpa

That's mighty fucking white of them.

The fact that they even considered the clownish birther claims to begin with truly just underscores the nastiness of the strain of extremism that is the lifeblood of conservatism these days.

I fully realize that even if Obama wins by another landslide this November, these assholes will never go away - which is an utterly depressing thought if dwelt upon for too long.  While I am all for their right to protest against Obama and disagree with his policies, there comes a point where the conjunction of their easily disproved lies, misguided hatred and thinly veiled racism ought to automatically exclude them from having a seat at the table of the country's national discourse.  As a result of their tiresome and destructive idiocy, it has become increasingly clearer that instead of having an adult chair at that table, it is way past time that these people need to be outfitted with a bib and permanently relegated to the toddler booster chair in the corner of the room.

A Frighteningly Clueless and Out of Touch "Man of the People" . . .

In an interview with ABC's George Snuffleopagus, Willard makes a stunning and revealing statement:

Democrats say Romney’s plan would cause a $2000 tax hike on the middle class - something Romney disputes and points to a number of studies that say his plan to cut taxes will not increase the deficit, including one by Harvard professor Martin Feldstein.
Feldstein says Romney’s math will work, but he would have to eliminate the home mortgage, charitable, state and local tax deductions for incomes greater than $100,000.
When I pressed Romney on that point, he conceded that he actually hadn’t read the Feldstein report that he and Paul Ryan cite on the campaign trail.
“I haven’t seen his precise study,” he said.
“I said that there are five different studies that point out that we can get to a balanced budget without raising taxes on middle income people.  Let me tell you, George, the fundamentals of my tax policy are these.  Number one, reduce tax burdens on middle-income people.  So no one can say my plan is going to raise taxes on middle-income people, because principle number one is keep the burden down on middle-income taxpayers,” he said.
Romney defined middle income as $200,000 to $250,000 a year.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/09/exclusive-romney-on-debates-obama-will-say-things-that-arent-true/

WTF????  $200,000 to $250,000 a year is "middle income."  Really?  FUCKING REALLY?????

The median household income in America is right around $50k +/- a few $k.  That's less money than Willard and Ann wrote off on their taxes last year for food and shelter of their Olympic prancing horse for fuck sake.

So basically what Willard is telling me is that the 30 years which I have labored working my way up the economic ladder, where for the first time last year (after bonus), I grossed just barely three figures in pay, were all for naught?  You mean to tell me Willard that I never really made it to the middle class by your standards??  I'm still a member of the working poor??   Well fuck me in the ass with a red white and blue, studded dildo!

Just shoot me now.

Now do you understand where Willard is coming from when he makes claims of caring for a strong "middle class"  There it is in his own words -- he is referring quite clearly to folks who are "struggling" on $200k - $250k a year incomes.

To my conservative pals -- how much more evidence do you need to prove that Willard, quite frankly, couldn't give a flying fuck about your $25k - $75k a year earning ass?  Simply put - you don't even show up as a ghostly blip on his gives-a-shit radar screen.  And if he doesn't give a shit about your existence, what makes you think his economic policies are going to, in any way shape or form, benefit you and your family's asses??  Wake up and smell the K-Y Jelly you dipshits - cuz that patriotic Bain Capital endorsed dildo is aimed straight at your unwitting sphincters and if they get their way, you're in for an ass reaming of the likes that the mis-perceived transgressions the Kenyan Muslim infiltrator has done unto you will be a distant, fond memory by the time they are finished having their way with you.

I swear, I try to talk sense to the conservatives I know.  But their hatred for the darkie in the White People's House is so  deeply entrenched in their misguided souls that truth, reason and reality are ineffective weapons against their communal force field of denial.

So - to my conservative family and friends - all I can do is provide you with the truth.  If you choose to ignore it and embrace the lies of Romney, Ryan, the Neo-cons and the TeaTards, don't come fucking crying to me if they win and then proceed to run this country back in to the same trickle-down economics ditch (ergo a Depression making the Depression of the 1920's look like Happy Days)  that Bush and the Republicans did to begin with -- because the only response you will get from me is -- talk to the hand, 'cause the face don't wanna hear it now more.

Ohhhhhhh Nooooooooes!!!

Oh dear.  Looks like there may be a shortage of stupid fucking right wing douchebags in Arizona at this time:

Not even the promise of crooner Pat Boone singing oldies from a spinning stage could save what was intended to be the premier birther event of the year later this month in Arizona.
Organizers of the gala, which would have featured Boone alongside Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio and some of the nation’s other prominent conspiracy theorists, broke the news online Friday that it was canceled “due to inadequate ticket sales.”

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/09/birtherpalooza_canceled.php

No doubt they'll blame the low ticket sales on Donald Trump and Ted Nugent for being unavailable for the evening's entertainment.

What a bunch of comical losers.  ROFL.

She Can See Obama's Cock From Her Front Porch . . .

Sounds like the Hockey Mom from Wasilla is a bit envious that Obama isn't using his package in ways she, in all likelihood, wet dreams about.

I thank The Flying Spaghetti Monster every day that a majority of Americans had the decency and the sense enough to not allow Sarah the imbecile a chance at furthering her cartoonish political career:

There seems to have been a small amount of tsuris in the Middle East yesterday, as a large lot of Libyans decided to kill some Americans. This makes most people show proper somberness and gravity. But not Sarah Palin! She is busy being very ladylike, by talking about the president’s penis. Let us go to her Facebook page, where all the world’s greatest statesmen gather to orate their profundities, and marvel at her good sense and wisdom!
Blah blah blah, Palin Palin Palin:
"It’s about time our president stood up for America and condemned these Islamic extremists. I realize there must be a lot on his mind these days – what with our economy’s abysmal jobless numbers and Moody’s new warning about yet another downgrade to our nation’s credit rating due to the current administration’s failure to come up with a credible deficit reduction plan. And, of course, he has a busy schedule – with all those rounds of golf, softball interviews with the “Pimp with the Limp,” and fundraising dinners with his corporate cronies. But our nation’s security should be of utmost importance to our Commander-in-chief. America can’t afford any more “leading from behind” in such a dangerous world. We already know that President Obama likes to “speak softly” to our enemies. If he doesn’t have a “big stick” to carry, maybe it’s time for him to grow one."

http://wonkette.com/483965/sarah-palin-wishes-barack-obama-had-a-bigger-penis#more-483965

She certainly is one nasty and ignorant little twit.  She should just stick to her stupid fucking "reality" television appearances because every time she opens her pie-hole on the subject of politics, the odor emanating from her yap stanks up the place.

And that's about all the time worth wasting on that idiot.

The Wingnut Mighty Media Wurlitzer In Action . . .

This is a classic example of what the right does when it knows it is fairly losing in the marketplace of ideas and their chosen candidate is failing to persuade the electorate with their vision and policies.  They seize on an event like the senseless murder of the U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens yesterday (on the anniversary of 9/11 no less) by some extremists and then let the lying and accusations fly.  They completely fabricate a narrative (Obama sympathizes with Muslims), throw it into the wingnut blogosphere, and then let the dishonest clowns on Fox "News" echo it and next thing you know there is controversy where there should be none.

http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/hannity-guest-obenshain-rants-obama-

And, unfortunately, the mainstream press is almost always too willing to be false equivalency backseaters in that wingnut, media echo chamber.

Here's proof.  Watch how Fox's Sean Hannity, one of the most dishonest media people ever to have a forum on national television, coaches and allows his crazed-eyed, foaming at the mouth guest state factual inaccuracies, while a flustered Juan Williams gives his usual (and phony) half-hearted defense:

It's getting to the point where I get physically ill watching this shit now.  These people have that effect on me. They are loathsome creatures who, I am convinced, share a strand of DNA that was plucked from the murkiest, most putrid and decaying muck of the human genome.

This is why I speak out though.  Because if someone doesn't stand up to these monsters, they will fuck this country over so badly, that by the time they are done doing their damage, there will be no future America.  There will be nothing but a rogue, third world nation in place of the world's greatest and fairest representative democracy.

Willard's Lips Move - Lies Spew Forth . . . In Other Words - Business As Usual in Romneyville

Romney is a pathological liar.  And it appears he has surrounded himself with like-minded lying lunatics like John Bolton:

Mitt Romney reiterated on Wednesday his condemnation of President Obama’s response to an attack on a diplomatic compound in Libya that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, accusing Obama of apologizing to Islamic miltants.
It was the second time in just over 12 hours that Romney had suggested the White House sided with rioters and militants. Romney’s initial statement came late Tuesday, after news had broke that an American officer had been killed in Libya, but before the State Department had confirmed Stevens was among the dead. It inaccurately suggested that the U.S. embassy in Cairo, which also came under attack, had issued a statement condemning an anti-Muslim film online that had sparked the riots as its “first response” to the violence. In fact, the embassy and multiple press reports assert that the statement came before the protests and was intended to head off a confrontation.

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/09/romney-libya-attack-benghazi.php?ref=fpa

Willard is tanking in the polls, so it is to be expected that he would start playing dirty politics.  But this kind of an accusation, under these circumstances, is just plain un-American and perverse.

When it became apparent that Willard was going to be the GOP nominee, I didn't have much an opinion of his character one way or the other.  Now however, I am beginning to think that this man is as dishonest as the day is long and should not be trusted with American power.

And the Oscar for worst performance portraying a disaffected Obama supporter goes to . . . . .

The GOP isn't even making a halfhearted effort to disguise their lies anymore:

Republicans debuted a new ad Thursday in which a frustrated former Obama supporter expresses her disappointment with the president. The only problem: The woman in the video is actually an RNC staffer.
The new ad features Republican National Committee Director of Hispanic Outreach Bettina Inclan, who in the ad purports to be an average woman voter who supported Obama in 2008. She describes her disillusionment with the president in the ad as a romantic relationship gone awry.
Inclan began her current RNC post in January 2012, and has worked in Republican politics since well before Obama’s 2008 election. She did Hispanic outreach for Rick Scott’s 2010 Florida gubernatorial race worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) and as national executive director of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly.

They couldn't find an authentic "frustrated former Obama supporter" so they simply hired one of their party hack staffers to make-believe portray one.

It fits the, by now well known, pattern though.  The GOP has decided that the American people are not deserving of honesty and rational, adult discourse.  They are so desperate (or perhaps simply morally and intellectually bankrupt) at this point, that lying and deception, of the type seen in this ad, have become second nature to them.  It is an open acknowledgement that they are incapable of competing in the marketplace of ideas and vision and therefore they find it necessary to utilize deception and character smears (just as they attempted in 2008) to appeal to the dumbest and the most gullible Americans.

Let's hope they fail in their dishonest endeavor once again.

The Belief in a Cruel God Makes a Cruel People -- Ladies and Gentlement I Give You Exhibit 'A'...

OMFG!  What in the fucking world is wrong with these people???????

Rep. Rick Berg (R-ND), the candidate for Senate from North Dakota, once voted for a bill that would have made any woman who obtained an abortion guilty of a homicide crime — even if it were in the case of rape or incest. Indeed, the bill Berg supported does not even contain an explicit exception if an abortion is necessary to save the woman’s life.
In 2007, Berg was among the small number of state representatives in the North Dakota House whosupported the measure. It also would have imposed penalties on doctors and anyone else who “aids, abets, facilitates, solicits, or incites” a person into an abortion:
A new section to chapter 12.1-16 of the North Dakota Century Code is created and enacted as follows:
Intentional termination of human life – Preborn children. A person is guilty of a class AA felony if the person intentionally destroys or terminates the life of a preborn child. A person that knowingly administers to, prescribes for, procures for, or sells to any pregnant individual any medicine, drug, device, or other substance with the specific intent of causing or abetting the termination of a preborn child is guilty of a class AA felony. A person that intentionally or knowingly aids, abets, facilitates, solicits, or incites a person to intentionally destroy or terminate the life of a preborn child is guilt of a class C felony. For purposes of this section, “preborn child” includes a human being from the moment of fertilization until the moment of birth.

So basically here is an entirely plausible scenario where this legislation could play out and what it's end result could/would be:

John and Mary Citizen's (let's call her Jane) 18 year old daughter goes off to college.  One night at a frat house party, Jane Citizen has a wee bit too much to drink and goes and passes out in a bedroom.  An unknown, drunken frat boy follows her in to the room and rapes her while she's passed out.  Jane Citizen wakes up, realizes what has happened to her and is so embarrassed and upset that she keeps the incident to herself - telling no one.  A short time later, Jane decides to do a pregnancy test on herself and realizes that she is indeed pregnant and is absolutely certain it was from the person who raped her.  Jane Citizen is now desperate.  She contacts her parents, tells them the story.  They contact and report the incident to the police, but the damage is done.  After a long, heartfelt talk with her parents and personal physician, and perhaps even clergy, Jane, with the support of her family decides to get an abortion.  Jane's father and mother take her to a clinic and have the procedure performed.

Under Rep. Berg's legislation, Jane citizen is at that point subject to arrest and lifelong incarceration for not wanting to bring her rapist's zygote to full term.  In addition, her parents and her physician are subject to the same arrest and incarceration for "knowingly aiding, abetting, facilitating, soliciting or inciting (advising)" Jane to seek the abortion procedure - as would be the abortion provider and clinic workers themselves.

Now - consider - in the U.S. - there are approximately 35,000 cases of rape each year (reported cases) that result in the woman, or in some cases even minor female, becoming pregnant from the rape.

Are these fucking right wing nutcases saying that they are willing to begin arresting and tossing rape VICTIMS, plus anyone who counsels them (physician, rape counselor, etc.) or advises (parents, friends, family members) in prison for life for assisting that female VICTIM in procuring a medical procedure that the United States Supreme Court has deemed legal?

Yes - that is exactly what they are saying they want to do.  Anyone else see what's wrong with this picture??

I have decided to cease referring to these teabagger Republicans like Nick Berg as "right wingers."  They are much more than that.  They are extremists and radical authoritarians.  They're claims of love for the Constitution are as hollow as their skulls.  They represent an imminent threat to freedom and democracy in this country and they need to be kept as far away from the levers of government power as is humanly possible.

Thankfully, in 2007, saner minds prevailed and that pernicious bill, which now would be Senator Nick Berg voted for, was defeated.  But the bottom line is that this man has no business being in any position of power, what with ample evidence to show of just how ruthlessly he would wield that power.  Knowing the conservative bent of North Dakota, I don't hold out much hope that this goose-stepper will be defeated, but I do believe the sane and reasonable people of the state should make it their top priority to ensure this sonofabitch never sets foot as a legislator in the Halls of Congress.

"Obama Hates America!!" . . Why? . . "Ummm - Because! Neener-Neener!" . . .

Soledad O'Brien and the panelists on Tuesday's "Starting Point" got into a testy exchange with Tea Party activist Amy Kremer over her allegation that President Obama doesn't "love America the way we do."

There you have it folks!  The Chairperson of the Tea Party Express in all of her Ernest T. Bass glory.

This woman is so fucking dumb she is entirely incapable of even articulating the meaning and context of her own statements as to why it is that she believes Obama hates America.  Derp, Derp,....

I know this is going to sound harsh, but quite honestly, it's the most sensible explanation I can produce as to why these lizard brains think the way they do ..... Amy Kremer is the culmination of generations of in-breeding, closed minded brain washing and paranoid tribalism combined with fundamentalist religious based home-schooling.  Add in a healthy dose of reality denial and the final product is hateful ignorance in it's purest form.  As much as I am certain that there does exist some common ground between my dirty hippie views and the views of the Teabaggers, their overt racism and penchant for lying and peddling manufactured conspiracies just simply prevents me from empathizing with them in any way, shape or manner at this point.  I have resignedly given up any hope for them.

Wherein The Gadfly Beseeches The Noodly Appendage . . .

I honestly wake up every day and pray to The Flying Spaghetti Monster thusly:

"Oh Magnificent, expertly cooked Noodly Appendage - please, please, please, let the so-called actual "journalists" in this country learn something from these clownish men, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, as to how their craft should be used to inform and educate and provide the truth to the American people."

I swear - I pray it every goddamn day.

And here's why:

When the history of comedy genius is some day documented for posterity, there are undoubtedly going to be several chapters dedicated solely to the works of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
